New Discovery Group
Statistics show that many who seriously consider missionary service never reach the field as long-term workers. Often they don’t know how to move forward in the process, or they get discouraged and assume God didn’t intend them to go.
To help reduce these barriers to missions service, Christine and Ellen are launching a group called “DISCOVERY.” DISCOVERY will meet occasionally (perhaps every 2-3 months) somewhere in the Philadelphia area to offer fellowship, encouragement, prayer, and information about cross-cultural ministry. DISCOVERY is designed for people of any age (18-80!) considering service of a year or more. It is designed to be a broad support community, NOT a recruitment event featuring a particular denomination or agency.
Our first DISCOVERY meeting will be held March 10, 2012, 10-noon at the Chinese Christian Church, 11th & Vine, Philadelphia. This is a free event to those in interested in missions service. Even if you can’t attend this first session, we would like you to take our online survey http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22EHDKUKLT5 so that we can include your preferences in future planning and contact you about upcoming sessions.

Living by faith is never easy. God called Abraham to leave his country, his people,
and his father's household and follow where God would lead him. Abraham's
experience of living by faith will be filled with both failures and victories as he
struggles to trust God every step of the way. Our hope is that this study of the life
of Abraham in Genesis 12-22 will encourage all of us as we seek to fulfill the call
God has put on our lives. May we each develop a deep and abiding trust that God
is in control and He will bring about His purposes as we follow Him.

Grace Point Goes to Bolivia! There is much happening in our partnership with Unidos en Cristo Church in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The following is an update and information about how to get involved.
A group of 11 people from Grace Point are traveling to visit our partner church in Bolivia from March 6-13. The primary goal of the trip is to deepen our friendship with Unidos en Cristo. We will lead activities with the children during the Compassion program, we will help with an outreach event in the neighborhood, and we will worship with the people on Sunday. We especially look for-ward to meeting the children that we sponsor. Will you pray for our team? A prayer sheet will be available at the Compassion ta-ble in the foyer.
A major aspect of our partnership is sponsoring children that attend Unidos en Cristo. Compassion International has registered 16 more children that need sponsors. You can choose to sponsor a child at Grace Point during the next three Sundays while the need exists. It costs $38 a month to sponsor a child, but the big-gest impact is made by writing letters. Lastly, do you want to visit our partner church and your sponsor child this summer? Compassion has approved another trip to visit Unidos en Cristo from August 7-14, 2012. Pastor Chris McCloskey will lead the trip. Applications will be available at a table in the church foyer beginning this Sunday.

A second COURAGEOUS LIVING BIBLE STUDY for men will be offered four Thursday nights in March, starting on March 8, from 7:30-9:00pm at the home of Keith Brown. WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP meets on Tuesday, February 21. Will you come join us for good fellowship and to work on projects that will be given to several ministries we support? LADIES, it's that time of year to head "down the shore" for our 28th annual Women's Retreat! Choice One is a local, Christian agency that provides counseling and practical help for couples in crisis pregnancies.
