Sunday drama on KCTS 9 ....

Flesh and Blood SERIES PREMIERE SUN Oct 4 | 9pThis contemporary mystery series explores the perils of late-life romance. As widow Vivien (Francesca Annis) nears her 70th birthday, retired GP Mark (Stephen Rea) sweeps her off her feet, shifting her priorities away from her three adult children. The children’s happy childhood memories – as well as their inheritance – are threatened by Mark’s arrival. Meanwhile, neighbor Mary (Imelda Staunton) has developed an unhealthy interest in the family’s unfolding drama.

Cobra SERIES PREMIERE SUN Oct 4 | 10pThis political drama is set in the heart of the British government during a crisis that engulfs the nation. As widespread power outages cause chaos and threaten lives, a team comprising Britain’s leading experts, crisis contingency planners and most senior politicians assembles under the name “COBRA” (Cabinet Office Briefing Room A) to coordinate the government response and turn the lights back on. Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting, The Full Monty) and Victoria Hamilton (Mansfield Park, The Crown) star.

The Trouble with Maggie Cole SERIES PREMIERE SUN Oct 18 | 8pDawn French (The Vicar of Dibley) stars in this new comedy drama that shows what happens when idle gossip escalates out of control. Set in a picturesque English fishing village, the series centers on Maggie Cole, the self-appointed oracle of this close-knit community. Maggie makes it her business to know a little bit about everyone’s lives – but she seems to have forgotten the cautionary adage that “people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”

The Best of Jane AustenThis month, we’re offering encores of our favorite Jane Austen series, including Sanditon (airing October 4 and 11) and Pride & Prejudice (airing October 18 and 25). These two series – along with Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park and Sense & Sensibility

– are also available to stream with KCTS 9 Passport. Don’t have Passport yet? Sign up today at KCTS9.org/Passport.

Note: Sanditon and Northanger Abbey are available to stream in Canada; due to rights issues beyond our control, the others are not.

Feels Good Man MON Oct 19 | 10pWhen Matt Furie fi rst created Pepe the Frog, a character in his indie comic “Boy’s Club,” Matt was an easygoing San Francisco artist and Pepe was a chill frog dude. Through a series of unforeseen, bizarre connections driven by the internet, Pepe came to be a symbol of hate for the far right. How exactly that happened is a wild journey into the heart of online life today, where the meanings of images change moment to moment and cannot be controlled – even by their creators.

Can We Cool the Planet? WED Oct 28 | 9pAs the world’s temperature increases, extreme weather and rising seas are causing global unrest. With time running out for conventional solutions to global warming, a growing collective of scientists and engineers are developing technologies to hack Earth’s operating system – from manipulating our atmosphere to refl ect sunlight, to sucking carbon dioxide right out of the air, to enlisting plants to do the job for us.
