STATISTICS

DISCUSSION

Statistics is used to evaluate and generate reports from the data gathered in the assembly and test modes. Data collection is controlled through the Log Test Data and Log Build Data options. The Log Test Data option can be set to record just the pass/fail status of each test, or storage of all error data. The Log Build Data option enables recording of the assembly time of each build sequence. Logged data also records the operator name, serial number, batch number, time and date, and workstation number for each assembly tested and built. This information allows the program to access the data and generate reports based on criteria selected by the user.

The Statistics program allows printing of individual test results and printing of combined tests results to generate reports showing failure trends. Data collected from the build modes allow printing of reports detailing the wire-by-wire assembly times for a harness assembly. Several assemblies may be combined to generate averages for establishing standards and for comparison against individual or groups of assemblies.

ACCESS

The Statistics program is entered through the Run category window from the main screen. From the main screen, move the category highlighting bar to the Run selection, which then displays the Run window as shown below.

BUILD REPORT CATEGORY

DISCUSSION

Build Report is used for generating reports using the build data saved for the current loaded program. A build report lists the length of time each sequence took to complete. The report also includes the operator, workstation, serial and batch numbers, the total build time, the time and date the harness was built, and the test condition after build was completed. Build Report is selected by pressing AL T B; the Build Report window appears, as shown below:

Copy to Reference

Copy to Reference is used to copy the Jast generated build report as the reference for comparing other reports. The reference can be copied from a single report or from an average report. The reference file can be used as-is, or edited using the Edit Reference command described next in this section.

COPYING A REPORT TO A REFERENCE FILE

1. Create a single or average build times report using the procedures described earlier.

2. With the Build Report window opened, move the cursor to Copy to Reference, and press ENTER. The report will be copied to the reference file.

Edit Reference

Edit Reference is used to create or make changes to the reference. A reference can be created from a generated report and then edited to make the desired changes. When the Edit Reference function is selected, the following Edit Reference window opens:

Editing a reference file is similar to editing a wire list. Moving the cursor to a sequence or to • one of the three lines at the top of the window and pressing ENTER opens an editing window.

There are four types of information that can be edited from the Edit Reference Window:

• Title • Total Build Time • Total Select Time • Sequence Time

The Title field is used to enter a thirty-one character title that can be used to add information to the file. Pressing ENTER while the cursor is on the Title field will open the following window:

Total Build Time

Total Build Time is used to specify the total time to complete the assembly. Build time • represents the amount of time spent on a wire while the Fromffo information is being displayed. It does not include the time required to search for a wire in a random build mode. A number can be edited or the F2 function key can be pressed which will sum the time for all the build sequences. The time is specified in days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Pressing ENTER while the cursor is on the Total Build Time field will open the following window:

Total Select Time

Total Select Time is used to specify the time required to search and locate a wire in the random build and random route modes. The time is specified in days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Pressing ENTER while the cursor is on the Total Select Time field will open the following window:

Sequence Time

The Sequence Time specifies the length of time for assembling each circuit. The time is specified in days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Move the cursor to the sequence to be edited and press ENTER. A Sequence Time edit window will open as shown below:

Compare with Reference

Compare with Reference is used to compare the last created report, either single or average, with the reference.

COMP ARING A REPORT TO A REFERENCE FILE

1. Create a reference file as described above under Copy to Reference and Edit Reference.

2. With the Build Report window opened, move the cursor to Compare with Reference, and press ENTER. A sample report is shown below:

TEST REPORT CATEGORY

DISCUSSION

Test Report is used for generating reports using test data saved for the current loaded program. A test report lists all the errors of a test. The report also includes the operator, workstation, serial and batch numbers, the date and time the test was performed and the total number of errors. When Test Report is selected by pressing ALT T, the Test Report window appears, as shown below:

Single Test Results

Single Test Results is used to generate a test report for a specific test. The specific test is selected by its serial number. A report is generated after selecting the serial number and entering an optional title by pressing ESC from the Report Options window. Only one serial number is used to create the report. Refer to the Reports Options window discussed earlier in this section.

Average Test Results

Average Test Results is used to generate test reports that average several tests together. A report is generated after setting the report options by pressing ESC from the Report Options window. Refer to the Report Options window discussed earlier in this section. This report shows the average number of errors found among several tests, and can be used to show failure trends.

GENERATING AN AVERAGE TEST RESULTS REPORT

1. With the Test Report window opened, move the cursor to Average Test Results, and press ENTER. The Report Options window will open.

2. With the cursor alongside Title, enter a report name up to thirty-one characters.

3. Set the report criteria using the Report Options procedures described earlier in this section.

4. Press ESC to generate the report. (If you decide not to generate the report, press F7.) A sample Average Test Results Report is shown below:
