About the TourThe Serengeti, together with Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park form Africa’s most famous

wildlife park. The image of acacia trees on an endless grass plain epitomizes Africa for many. Unlike the southern plains of the Serengeti that dry out, forcing all but the hardiest of species to leave, the Northern Serengeti remains lush and green throughout the year.

The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. From July through to October the Migration is in the Northern Serengeti and this is where many of the most famous scenes of the Migration occur with almost daily crossings of the Mara River.

But that is not where the game viewing ends; large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland to mention but a few. Come join us on this once in a lifetime experience to witness these majestic animals in their natural habitat.

Suggested ScheduleOct 16th: From Kilimanjaro airport, guests will

be picked up and driven to Arusha Coffee Lodge, Approx. 1 hr drive from the airport.  You will be escorted by a local guide once you proceed through customs and baggage claim. Your guide will make sure you are checked into your hotel upon arrival.  The rest of the day or evening is at your leisure.  Overnight will be at the Arusha coffee lodge. No meals are included on this day.

Oct 17th: From Arusha Coffee Lodge, guests will be transferred to Arusha airport for a scheduled flight to Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival at the Kogatende Airstrip, guests will be met by a camp driver guide and proceed to the Lemala Kuria Hills Camp. In the evening, guests will partake in the Game Package as provided by the camp.Meals (B,L,D)

Oct 18/19th: Guests will partake in the Game Package as provided by the camp to witness the great migration. These two days will be filled with guided game drives and bush walks. After your night drives you will be able to sit by a fire with tea and soak in the sounds and the sites of the wilderness. Meals (B,L,D)

Oct 20th: After breakfast guests will be transferred to the Airstrip for their scheduled flight to Arusha Airport and onward to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, guest will be met by a staff member and assisted with their transfer to the Serena for the main Johns Hopkins program. Meals (B)

Lemala Kuria Hills Camp - Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is remotely located in the Wogakurya Hills of the Northern Serengeti. Lemala Kuria Hills is in close proximity to the Mara River on the Serengeti’s border with Kenya’s Maasai Mara, so is also within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration.
