Designed a solution to minimize the impact of Total Phosphorous and other Nutrients seeping into the Lake Watershed from Rural Residential Septic Systems by linking several New Technologies together achieving affordable solutions, creating awareness and providing homeowners alternative opportunities to ensure that effluent is not generating a negative impact on the environment and lead the way in Clean Water Stewardship

Pilot Project (A)
Gray Water Reuse System (GWRS) reducing volume discharge to septic system implementing assistants chemical coagulation, Filtration by membrane or media application, Ozone & or UV disinfection all Power by Solar Energy System allowing for over flow protection from holding tank to septic tank. By introducing filtration and disinfection will expand the use of gray water. This will allow more than just toilet usage allowing the application to: lawn & garden watering. Car washing, laundry and possibly reuse back to showers & sinks.

Aerobic Treatment Unit System (ATUS) with the reduction of water to septic tank will need to be enhance with aeration to help microbe production along with introducing regulated approved chemical assistance for coagulation of Total Phosphorous (TP) and air striping of H2, CO2, NH3, H2S, and CH4 to septic bed and to further digestion of organics a small return activates sludge pump

For over 100 years, ozone has been known as the fastest, strongest and most natural disinfectant. It is 3000 times faster and 300 times stronger than chlorine, breaks down to oxygen, preserves healthy water minerals and has no consumables.
Low-cost, low energy systems with unlimited adaptability to any flow rate and water application - 1000 Liters for less than .05 cents.

One website, www.toolbase.org which has some nice simple summaries of types of septic systems, cites a cost of $3200. to $5000. to install an aerobic treatment unit in conventional septic tank and drain field with proper inspection and maintenance.

Control Total Phosphorous (TP)
Project will start at Targeting watershed residents who are experiencing eutrophication problems in nearby lakes and streams by making "improvement" to a Old and New conventional septic system and being “Proactive Rather Than Reactive” in the years to come by reduction of: (TP), Ammonia, Nitrate/Nitrite by minimizing high flows to septic tank by use of Gray Water Reuse System and reduction in Food to Microbe (FM) to the drainage bed.
ATUS Phosphorous removers for septic systems: Another variety of
consumer products is marketed for their ability to remove phosphorus from wastewater. These products are targeted at watershed residents who are experiencing eutrophication problems in nearby lakes and streams.
Phosphorus is an essential nutrient for aquatic plant growth and limiting its input to inland surface waters can help curtail nuisance algae blooms.
Aluminum (as alum, sodium aluminate, aluminum chloride, and activated alumna), ferric iron (as ferric chloride and ferric sulfate), ferrous iron (as ferrous sulfate and ferrous chloride), and calcium (as lime) have been proven to be effective in stripping phosphorus from effluent and settling it to the bottom of the tank.
Note: An important side effect of this form of treatment, however, can be the destruction of the microbial population in the septic tank due to loss of buffering capacity and a subsequent drop in pH. Treatment processes can be severely compromised under this scenario.

ATUS This will be achieved by “chemical assisted coagulating”
out TP in the septic tank therefore reducing over load of TP in the Septic Bed leaching out to the environment by doing so this will allow the De-nitrification micro organisms to flourish in the septic bed surmounting in an reduction of nitrates & nitrite resulting in a reduction of overgrowth Biomass that is causing an upset or restricting finial polishing of nurturance within the leaching bed restoring fields percolation rate into full area of bed zone. This in return will restore the function for evaporation and consumption of vegetation on land and allow the Septic Bed to polishing off of any residual nutrients like TP.
ATUS Conventional septic systems
Work in an anaerobic or oxygen free environment, promoting the growth of a black, sludge-like layer called the BioMat in the drain field. Drain field is a generic term that refers to: gravity fed and pressurized drain fields, mounds, trenches, cesspools, seepage pits, drywells and lagoons.
ATUS Leaching Field BioMat
Over time, the BioMat builds up and seals the ground and sidewalls of the drain field, preventing it from absorbing water discharged from the septic tank. This results in symptoms of septic system failure, including ponding, foul smell, sluggish toilets and drains, tank overflows and system back-ups.
ATUS Digest/decompose organic matter. In an anaerobic
environment, facultative and anaerobic bacteria can reduce retained organic molecules to soluble compounds and gases; including H2, CO2, NH3, H2S, and CH4. This digestion can significantly reduce sludge volume.

Will assist mixing of chemical coagulant and aid in the gassing of above soluble compounds and enriching the finial effluent with oxygen allowing the de-nitrification microbes to do their work Note: that regular facultative, anaerobic & aerobic bacteria produce by binary fusion in 30 minutes but de-nitrification microbes take 10 to twelve hours to reproduce That’s why it’s important for home owners to regulate what cleaning product are flushed to septic tank.
