IstanbulSeptember 10 – 12, 2015

After gatherings in Paris (2012), Berlin (2013) and Munich (2014), The Touring Exhibitions Meeting 2015 will be taking place in the bustling megacity of Istanbul.

For one weekend the TEM family will live and work under the roof of the new Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center, which, from September 10 – 12, will be the home of the 4th edition of our conference. This high-rise building takes the title of the largest hotel in Istanbul, boasting 900 rooms and suites, an expansive spa and gym area, tens of thousands of square metres of conference space, and a wide variety of restaurants, bars and entertainment options. The premier hotel is nestled into the lively and cosmopolitan Bomonti neighbourhood, which includes mosques, synagogues, churches, galleries, eateries, flea markets and the workspaces of the creative industries. The name of this part of Istanbul, and the hotel itself, comes from

the old Bomonti brewery, in which the Swiss Bomonti broth-ers began brewing beer back in 1890.

This year’s conference features Tim Leberecht (The Business Romantic) and Christopher Beanland (Is there a Future for the Traditional Museum?) as keynote speakers, and also new for 2015 is the TEM Business Lounge – a dedicated area for networking and meetings.

On TEM’s main stage you can find our yearly TEM Flea Market – a presentation afternoon that gives the opportu-nity to present your exhibitions and venues to all attendees. A session programme open to all interested delegates will feature workshops, discussions and product demos. There will also be networking events on all evenings to round up the conference.

We have teamed up with Istanbul Entertainment Group (IEG) to bring TEM to that fascinating metropolis that strad-dles two continents, Europe and Asia: Istanbul awaits you!

The Touring Exhibitions Meeting (TEM) is an international conference that brings together peo-ple who develop touring exhibitions, and people who present touring exhibitions. By facilitating opportunities to meet and share ideas, TEM hopes to foster the international exchange of exhibitions, and unite content and business.

As a networking platform, TEM welcomes a diverse range of individuals, in-cluding touring exhibitions departments of museums and science centres, exhibition developers from the private and public sector, entertainment producers and promoters, and venues including museums, science centres, trade fair and convention centres and urban cultural centres. We also welcome professionals from the creative industries, as well as suppliers and service providers for exhibitions.

Last year’s meeting in Munich was an outstanding event, with 180 delegates from 35 countries in attendance. Now in its 4th year, TEM has developed into a worldwide network of likeminded individuals and organisations.

With the recent introduction of The Touring Exhibitions News (TEN) we have created a dedicated online publication for that community, featuring news, reports and interviews. You can read more online at www.touringexhibitions.org.

TEM is produced and presented by SC Exhibitions (a division of Semmel Concerts Entertainment GmbH, one of the leading German live entertainment promoters). Local host and headline sponsor of the 2015 edition is Istanbul Enter-tainment Group (IEG). We are producers and promoters of touring exhibitions, just like TEM’s delegates.

With TEM, we wanted to launch the kind of conference we would enjoy attending ourselves, aiming to create an atmo-sphere similar to the excitement generated at comic book conventions, where people turn up enthusiastic and eager to be there and enjoy the experience, rather than just to shop.

When? From Thursday, September 10, afternoon to Saturday, September 12, late night.

Thursday, September 10: TEM Istanbul starts in the afternoon, with some pre-conference activities. In the early evening there will be drinks and light snacks at the TEM Warm-Up Reception, and an opportunity to schedule dinners with your friends and partners for that night.

Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12: Full conference days from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., with dinner parties on both evenings.

Recommended arrival time: Thursday, September 10 before the early evening. Recommended departure: Sunday, September 13.

Where? The Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center is the headquarter hotel and conference location. Staying with the entire TEM family under one roof will give you a perfect conference experience. Istanbul is always busy and hotels are quite expensive, so we recommend you book your room at Hilton Istanbul Bomonti as soon as possible, and take advan-tage of the available special conference rates.

All daytime events for TEM will take place at Hilton Istan-bul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center. Evening events will take us out on the town to visit other exciting Istanbul locations. Check our website, social media channels and the newsletters for regular updates on the programme.

Key sponsorship of TEM 2015 is limited to three partners.

PLEASE… support The Touring Exhibitions Meeting 2015 in Istanbul as sponsor and delegate. Your support is essential for the continuation of this project.

Following an idea by José Araujo, executive producer for a variety of touring exhibitions in Europe in the past decade, TEM has been founded and mainly funded by SC Exhibitions, the exhibition division of German promoter Semmel Concerts. The Touring Exhibitions Meeting (TEM) is not a “commercial confer-ence”, aiming to make profits from delegate fees or the contribution of its sponsors. We want to cover the costs to produce a good conference and we want to experiment with some new ideas, to name The Touring Exhibi-tions News (TEN) the first B2B platform for everyone working in our field.

Your registration fee is an important con-tribution to keep the TEM idea alive. If you can, please engage as sponsor. We are pleased to offer some special opportunities to support the Istanbul meeting. TEM’s sponsors gain exceptional profile and exposure to all dele-gates. All sponsors receive the added benefits of branding and promotion on the conference’s website, on all our conference marketing and advertising materials, and in follow up infor-mation and activities.

The meeting grew with the support of all delegates and the following sponsors in Paris 2012, Berlin 2013 and Munich 2014: VIPARIS, Encore Productions, Ophrys, ArtStation, John Nurminen Events, Premier Exhibitions, Grande Exhibitions, Asisi Panorama Inter-national, Body Worlds, RSF, Imagine Exhibi-tions, Deutsches Currywurst Museum, Berlin Highlights, Eventim, Amsterdam Expo and Olympic Park Munich.

The support of these esteemed partners and all previous delegates transformed our first spontaneous gathering with some 50 delegates in Paris 2012 into what is now known as TEM. 180 delegates from 35 countries attended last year’s meeting in Munich.
