Hello, August was a great month to get out and ride. We were able to do several rides as a group. The 1st we rode down through Sturgeon Lake and ending up at the Fish Bowl in Danbury for lunch, (via many back roads and U-‐turns). After lunch we rode down to Spooner, over to Hayward, and then to Solon Springs for some ice cream at the Dairy Queen. All in all it was a great ride. Jim, Harla, Tom, and Kathy braved the heat on the 15th and made the ride to the Pizza Ranch in Hibbing. Eric Purdy, Michelle and I attended the Region E Rally in Green Bay, WI. August 6th -‐8th. Our chapter banner won 1st place in the region. We are having our 3rd annual Chapter Picnic at our house on the 12th of September. Michelle and I will take care of the meat and the dessert, but we are asking everyone to bring a dish to share. Also, please RSVP if you are planning on attending either by calling or e-‐mailing us, our number & e-‐mail address is at the bottom of the newsletter. Our address is: 1331 91st Ave W Duluth, MN. 55808. Paul & Jamie Howard have set up an overnight trip to Thunder Bay on September 26th & 27th. We will be meeting at Brighten Beach at 6:45am and leave at 7:00. Our first stop will be the Rustic Café for breakfast. We will be stopping in Grand Marais (SA) for fuel and then 1 more comfort stop before the border. Last stop is the hotel. I will be contacting the members that live in Thunder Bay so that we can meet up with them or maybe they can take us for a ride. If you want to join us, you can make your reservation at: Best Western Crossroads Motor Inn 1-‐807-‐577-‐4241, the group is listed as “GW CHAPTER D” and the group code is “GOLDWING”.
