Hello Thunderpups!

I very much wish I can speak to you individually to inspire you to become

more active in Key Club, but there's so little time to do everything. I feel

as if my term is ending so quickly. I also feel as if I haven't done much,

but remember pups, every little thing counts to make a change, so use

every opportunity you can! I love working you guys and I definitely love

to see new faces. Just as simple as seeing new faces brightens up my

day. Hopefully you can find that little something in Key club that will

spark the happiness inside you. Well, we're on the right path pups, we're

just going to have to make our way through efficiently.

Bye my lovelies!!

- Benjamin Franklin Key Club President Aljelen Paraiso

My name is Aljelen Paraiso and I'm Benjamin Franklin's Key

Club President. One of the events I attended during the

month of September was the LA River Clean-up. The event

happened to be a division council meeting, which makes it

all the more merrier to volunteer. I've never seen the LA River,

but once I did, I realized how some people treat, not only the

river, but the environment so poorly. Maybe I'm mistaking the

moss as dirty water, but regardless of that, there were many

glass bottles shattered around the area. I couldn't believe it,

but knowing that I helped clean the river was something to

be proud of because if no one is going to do it, who? So it

was an amazing feeling to know that you helped reduce

pollution and made the community a much more safer

environment for everyone else.

-Aljelen Paraiso, President

We had the Los Angeles River Clean Up which was

an amazing event where almost 300 members

showed up and help clean the river. Picking up

trash despite how hot it was or how much work

there was they did it with a smile on their face and

with spirit. So many key clubbers have come

together to make a change and also learn about

other ways they can make a change.

Hey guys! My name is Winny Chen and I attended

Zumba for the month of September. About 5 people

attended this event. The event was located at the

Emmanuel Church around Korea Town, I believe. We

started off by decorating the area inside and

organized shirts, food, water, and balloons. We had to

blow up so many balloons, it was hectic. I even had a

difficult time handling all the balloons! But eventually,

we finished decorating and the DJ started playing

music. People began arriving and Zumba class began!

Many of us danced along with everyone and had a

blast! It was a really good work out and the food was

delicious. We served yogurt with topping, frozen fruits,

water, and granola bars to everyone while they had

their break. After the event ended, a few people

came over to our stand and bought shirts. We had

clean and put away tables and pop the balloons. It

was honestly a very fun and wild experience! It was my

first time doing Zumba and I guarantee you that I will

attend the same event next year!

-Winny Chen, Historian

The month of September had some big

events which were Region Training

Conference where many new faces and old

members came to learn about key club,

leadership, and spirit. The most memorable

part was the session when the LTGs talked

about how one wave starts change. This is

where one member donated a single dollar

and everyone else began to donate.

OFFICER RECOGNITION!

WOLFPACK TIMES Page 6 Volume 1 | Issue VI

For the month of September, the officer of the

month is our sergeant at arms, Jeffrey Escano!

Jeffrey is on our school’s dance team. Aside from

receiving thousands of applauds for his extremely

talented skills, Jeffrey has a tremendous amount of

responsibility when dealing with a large group of

key clubbers at a meeting. He is greatly respected

for his generosity towards others. Every meeting, he

makes sure that every member receives a copy of

an updated calendar, which contains important

dates of upcoming events. He alerts members

when our president is speaking in order for them to

be attentive about significant information that is

being delivered. Aside from taking care of

members during every meeting, Jeffrey takes care

of everyone at every event. He encourages

members to attend as many events as they can in

order to gain memorable experiences. Jeffrey likes

to carry his camera; he enjoys taking pictures of

members working, smiling, and having fun. He

shares his experiences with others so that they can

be a part of the big Key Club family. When

recruiting new members, he asserts to others that

he should have joined Key Club in the beginning of

his freshman year because he would have fell in

love with the club earlier. Jeffrey shares his amazing

experiences with others about volunteering,

assisting the school and community, and making

new friends. By being sergeant at arms, Jeffrey

demonstrates that he is capable of educating

others about the importance of Key Club, whether

it’s giving back to the community, setting up

booths, or having fun with other members; he takes

the initiative to guide members towards a path of

success.

MEMBER RECOGNITION!

WOLFPACK TIMES Page 7 Volume I | Issue VI

For the month of October, our member of

the month is Mark Ingcoco! Mark is one of our new

members. He is part of Franklin’s dance team and

dubstep group. He attends almost every event and

demonstrates great eagerness to volunteer. Mark is

definitely an active member ever since the school

year started. Although Mark is a new member, he

has been participating in club activities during the

summer break. He has been to Galco’s Tasting

Event, our Scavenger Hunt, every Braille event, and

much more! Mark is kindhearted; he helps

everyone as much as he possibly can, even when

he has his own duties in hands and offers friendly

assistance after completing his assignments. Mark

always has a glow on his face in which sparkles his

devotion for service. He definitely convinced others

that he is serious about Key Club; he is present in

every meeting and attends every club and division

events. Mark attended Region 7 Training

Conference and has inevitably fallen in love with

Key Club. By going to RTC, he establishes a

fashionable passion for service, leadership, and

mainly everything about Key Club. He always finds

time to participate in events and takes responsibility

in his duties. In all circumstances that involve heavy

duty lifting or severe set up in booths, Mark would

be the one who voluntarily lends a hand. He is a

perfect example for other new members because

he is undoubtedly a hardworking and passionate

member.
