An African Safari AdventureNgorongoro Crater Lodge boasts architecture as impressive as its surroundings.

While the structural style evokes traditional Maasai mud-and-stick manyatta (homesteads), the interior accommodation and finishes are pure luxury. There is also private butler service, and all suites have a view of the crater along with a luxurious domed dining area and afireplace.

This place is ideal for groups looking for a thrilling escapade from the city and urban life. Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in the southeast of the Serengeti allows delegates who are keen to explore the challenging paths close to the rim with safari walks, or join the game drives to witness hippo and lions roaming in the wild.

India is the second most populous nation in the world, second only to China. The country has a rich historical heritage and with its roots dating back to the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, which is one of the oldest and more prominent civilizations of all times. India is best known as a free and democratic country. The country is incredibly diverse with its culture, religion, traditions and rituals. Despite the differences, they are still able to hold the spirit of tolerance by enduring and sharing the dissimilarities in social life. One can say that India had proved to be a harmonious home for different religions and cultures; it is like a beautiful and peaceful garden in which all kinds of plants and trees flourish. This is the national identity of India, and it’s the variances that make the country stands out even more!

The British East India Company progressively invaded andoccupied India since the mid 1800s over the next 100 years.Atrocities were committed in the First War of Indian Independence during the predominant of East India Company. The British Crown took over the administration of the subcontinent after this. This led to the rapid development of infrastructures in India and the crownplundered most of the Indian Wealth, leading to a sharp decline of the Indian economy at the time.

India struggled for its independence in the beginning of the 20th century. Under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, Indian National Congress fought a bloodless battle which finally secured theindependence of the country from the United Kingdom in 1947. After going through the hardships of obtaining their Independence, India became the world's largest democracy. Apart from that, India is a land of huge contrasts. Ironically, India is the oldest of the civilizations and simultaneously the youngest. India brings a thin line of separation to the definition of the new and the old; the elegant and the grotesque; the great and the small, the best and the worst. Many people said that India is materially poor but spiritually rich. For instances, there are children be in India that are compelled into low paying jobs. However, one may also see, and even experiences their high level of ethics through their doings in daily life, strangers who are kind; parents who endlessly sacrifice for theirchildren; friends who are loyal; and roadside vendors with dignity. In India, its illiteracy rate is among the highest in the world which records a shocking figure of 50%. In spite of its high percentage of illiteracy, India boasts the second largest pool of engineers and scientists in the world.

Ironically, India is the oldest of the civilizations and simultanouslythe youngest. India brings a thin line of separation to the definition of the new and the old; the elegant and the grotesque; the great and the small, the best and the worst.

On arrival, you will be transported to your hotel for an overnight stay.DELHI: India’s capital and a major getaway to the country. Delhi is a contemporary bustling metropolis, which successfully combines in its folds - the ancient with the modern. Amidst the fast spiralling skyscrapers, the remnants of a bygone time in the form of its many monuments erect with a sense of pride as silent reminders to the region’s ancient legacy. The first impression for any visitors travelling in from the airport are of its spectacular view encompassing spacious garden city, tree-lined with a number of beautiful parks.

Day 02 – In Delhi

In the morning, you’ll be enjoying Our Experiential product known as Morning in Hauz Khas:

Start your first day in Delhi by visiting an Oriya Temple, one truly unique in its architecture. The temple belongs to an ethnic community from Orissa, a state bordering Bengal. You would be able to witness and experience something you won’t be able to on a daily basis - the priest offering prayers on behalf of the devotees, sweet serene temple bells ringing and strong temple incense wafting through the air. A ten minute walk and you are in the Hauz Khas village.

Meet the famous Mr. K.D Aryan of Sri Books selling antique maps, books and film posters. He has been featured in a BBC documentary and will very proudly tells you his story. Ethnic Silver and Plutus are lovely shops selling silver jewellery, but the effervescent Mrs Kusum Jain of Cottage of Arts & Jewellery is a must-visit for her designer jewellery, old textiles, paintings & prints. Lola’s World is another magical shop with everything for children up to age twelve.

After exploring, stop for a meal at one of the village’s restaurants, particularly the south Indian specialty restaurant, Naivedyam. The savoury rasam (spicy tomato soup) is brilliant and the dosas (south Indian rice pancakes) & idlis are simply authentic.

In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour of both the Old & New Delhi. The tour will begin with a visit to Raj Ghat, a simple memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, followed by a drive past the Red Fort before continuing on to the Jama Masjid. Then, enjoy a walk through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk to reach Jama Masjid, one of Asia’s largest mosques. People stream in and out of the mosque continuously throughout the day and the presence of a nearby bazaar means that the area is rarely quiet.

Later on, you will then proceed to visit New Delhi, which reflects the legacy the British left behind. The distinction between New and Old Delhi involves the division between the capitals of the British and the Mughals respectively. The division in the walled city and New Delhi also marks the division in the life-styles. The walled city is all tradition where one will be able to glean a past life-style in all its facets, colours and spells. On the contrary, New Delhi is a city trying to live up to the best of 21st century standards. The tour to Imperial Delhi will include a visit to the Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India. Qutab-ud-din Aibak started it in 1199. The splendour of Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque was also build by Qutab-ud-din Aibak. Heincorporated 27 Hindu and Jain temples and used their columns to erect the mosque. You’ll be given the opportunity to visit Humanyu’s tomb as well. It is a sheer magnificent garden tomb which is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. It was built in 1565 A.D. nine years after the death of Humayun, by his senior widow Bega Begam. Inside the walled enclosure, the most notable features are the garden squares (chaharbagh) with pathways water channels, centrally located well proportional to the mausoleum topped by double dome. The tour also includes taking a drive past the imposing India Gate, the Parliament House and the Rastrapathi Bhawan, the President’s residence.

Day 03 – Delhi - Agra by Surface

After breakfast, you will proceed to Agra. At the time of the Mughals, in the 16th & 17thcenturies, Agra was the capital of the grand Mughal Empire. During this period, the city became a leading centre of art, science, commerce and culture. It came into prominence when a lavish patronage of Mughal rulers created forts, tombs and palaces in red sandstone and marble inlaid with semi-precious stones.

Upon your arrival in Agra, you will be checking in to your hotel.

In the afternoon, you will be paying a visit to Agra Fort, an outstanding example of Mughal architecture. Agra Fort - the seat and the stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations. This was the seat of Mughal rule and administration. Its present structure owes its origins to Akbar who erected the walls and gates and the first buildings on the eastern banks of Yamuna River. Shah Jehan added the impressive quarters and the mosque while Aurangzeb added the outer ramparts. Visit its Hall of Public Audience and its Royal Pavilions.

After breakfast, take delight in the city tour of Agra by visiting the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays) is everything that has been said about it and more. Taking 22 years and 20,000 men to build, the white marble was quarried 200 miles away and was transported to the site by a fleet of 1000 elephants. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of his love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal during the mid- 17th century. The Taj Mahal is truly one of the wonders of the world. Though the Taj appears to be amazingly perfect from almost any angle, it is the close-up marble inlay work, which is really astounding. You will have ample time to view and be mesmerized by this outstanding piece of architecture.

After the visit, enjoy our experiential tour - Old Agra: The Road Not Taken. Very few travellers ever visited the older part of Agra; whereby it was once an important trading centre of the Imperial capital of the Mughals known for its abundant consumption of commodities and giving gifts on a large scale. An early seventeenth century Persian poemtranslated Persian scholar Sunil Sharma talks about the flourishing city of Agra: “... the entire capital from seas and mines is put in the shop of onemerchant. If there is a buyer, a hundred caravan loads come out of one shop of his.”

After that, we will take a Rickshaw or Tonga ride to Old Agra to explore hidden alleys. As you enter the lanes of Old Agra you will get to peep inside shops, temples and lives of people to relive the life and times of a city that has an enduring history that predates and goes beyond the glorious era of the Taj Mahal, where it was a prosperous mercantile town during late – Mughal and days of the British Raj.

In the afternoon, we will then start our journey to Jaipur en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted city of Emperor Akbar which literally means “The City of Victory”. Fatehpur Sikri was built in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. The Fatehpur Sikri complex houses tomb of

Salim Christi, Panch Mahal and otherpalaces, which surprisingly have withstood the ravages of time and are still in goodconditions.

Upon arrival in Jaipur, you will be checked-in to your pre booked hotel.

Day 05 - In Jaipur

You will visit the capital of Amber to see the fabulous Amber Fort after breakfast. Maharaja Mansingh, Mughal Emperor Akbar’s most successful General, started the construction of Amber Fort in the 17th century. Before the City Palace was constructed in Jaipur, Amber was the seat of power. The fort is surrounded by fortified battlements and overlooks the Moat Lake. Ruins and remains are spread over the Aravalli hills and sprawling crenulated walls lattice the surrounding area.

Elephants will spare you the trouble of reaching up to the fortress. Once on top, stroll through the sprawling complex of courtyards and halls. Many of the rooms have delightful wall paintings, withprecious stones and mirrors inlaid in the walls. Most fascinating, perhaps, is the Sheesh Mahal (hall of mirrors) where a single lamplight is reflected in the many mirrors, lighting up the room.

You will also be able to visit the City Palace, which is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doorways. The palace museum houses collections of rare manuscripts, armoury, costumes, carpets and miniature paintings.

Stop and see the ‘Palace of Winds’, otherwise known as Hawa Mahal. It is an elaborate facade behind where the ladies of the court used to watch the daily goings on in the street below. It is extremely intricate in its pink sandstone carving. The cool wind blows through its facade of windows and latticed screens through which the queens of the court once viewed the streets of the city.

Additionally, we will be visiting Jaipur’s Jantar Mantar (Jai Singh’s observatory) that is the most famous of five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh in India. Jai Singh was a great admirer ofprogresses and research made in the fields of science and technology, but he was passionate about astronomy too.

Then, in the afternoon, acquaint yourself with the elephants in Elefantastic – A Half Day with the Elephants – When meeting an elephant for the first

time you have to let them catch your smell. Make them feel comfortable by stroking and talking to them while looking into their eyes. Let the elephant feel your energy and spirit. You might have heard of the saying “love goes through the stomach?”, Well, elephants are no exception. Feeding is the easiest way to gain their trust. For a couple of hours you will get a chance to feed them while learning their feeding habits, and what they enjoy eating the most. Next, you will learn about the 100% natural paint that is used to paint the thick elephant skin. Learn how to create a traditional painting on the elephants face. If you’re not great at drawing, don’t worry, we can paint the outlines on their face if you like and then you fill in the gaps with the colours of your choice. Or perhaps, you would rather indulge yourself in an elephant ride? The elephant safaris last between 50-60 min-utes. The elephants will be fully decorated and painted on its face and front legs while maintaining the traditional elephant attire of our culture. Your rider will also be in com-plete uniform with a traditional turban on his head.
