Prayer for the Protection of Storms
God our Father, creator of the Universe and Lord over all creation, we humbly stand before you as your children in thanksgiving for your loving care and protection. We ask
that you keep us safe from all hurricanes which may threaten us in the coming seasons.
Protect us from all fear and anxiety of storms and give us an ardent trust and hope in Your love and mercy. You
alone have the power to command the sea, the wind and the rain. You alone bring peace, calm, and safety.
Father, we thank you in advance, for you are our only Refuge. We ask this through Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever
and ever. Amen. Mary, Queen of the Apostles, and Patroness of our Diocese, Pray for us.
Please Pray for the recently deceased members of our Parish
and their grieving families.

Visiting Deacon
We are excited to welcome Deacon Zachary Gray
to our parish family! He will be serving our community
here the coming year.
St. Anastasia Parish,
My name is Deacon Zackary Gray, and I am excited to serve here at St. Anastasia for the coming year. I am originally from Ocala, Fl, and have been in seminary for the past eight years, studying for the priesthood, and will serve in the Diocese of Orlando. To share a bit about myself, I am a casual person who loves football, movies, video games and literature. In May, I was given the great grace of being ordained a transitional deacon, and am now in my last year of study. It is a truly exciting time, and I am grateful to share it with you all. I look forward to getting to know each of you and serving your community this coming year. I humbly ask for your prayers and will pray for you in turn.
In Christ, Deacon Zachary Gray

What is RCIA?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process established for the universal Church for individuals to become Catholic
and receive he Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
The initiation process also involves a parish
community experiencing a renewal in faith as it prepares and welcomes new members into the
Church. The Rite speaks of conversion as a “spiritual journey” centered on fostering a deep
relationship with Jesus and the Church He founded, this journey takes place through
distinct stages over a period of time.
We will begin a new RCIA process in September.
Registration is now open and forms forms are available on our website
at www.stanastasiachurch.org as well as in the Parish Office.

Message from Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, Next weekend, September 11th and 12th, the Diocese of Palm Beach will have a special collection to benefit both our local Catholic Charities Respect Life Ministry and our diocesan parishes who minister to mostly migrant parishioners. Half of next week’s collections will benefit our local Catholic Charities Respect Life Ministry which promotes life from natural conception until natural death through prayer, catechesis, legislative action and pastoral programs. They actively promote respect for all life by advocating and raising awareness in such areas as: abortion, physician assisted suicide/euthanasia, death penalty, end of life and bioethics. This ministry promotes and implements the Respect Life Program and the Pastoral Plan for Pro-life Activities of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The other half of the collection will benefit St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Belle Glade, St. Mary Catholic Church in Pahokee, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Okeechobee. These parishes have large migrant communities, and your support assists them greatly in ministering to their pastoral and social needs. Together let us prayerfully and compassionately respond in faith to those who cry out to God in desperation as they seek a safe place for themselves and their families. With gratitude for your continued generosity and with every prayerful wish, I am
Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito Bishop of Palm Beach

We Choose to Follow Jesus
Answer to Word-Puzzles: Left side: He has done all things well! Right side: Happy Birthday Mary!
www.thekidsbulletin.com
Being able to hear is a wonderful gift from God. Imagine what it would be like if you couldn’t hear anything! In today’s Gospel reading, the people begged Jesus to heal a deaf man. What do you think it was like for that man when suddenly he could
hear everything that was going on around him?
God has given us the gift of hearing to be able to talk with and listen to other people, and to appreciate the sounds of creation. We use this gift to hear God’s Word at Mass and
when we are being taught. Think of all the things that we can do because we can hear: we can listen to and play music, we can sing and
talk with people, we can hear birds and wind in the trees, and we can also be warned of things like barking dogs or
cars coming. Did you ever thank God for the gift of hearing? Thank Him today!
