Entrance Hymn Come let us bow down to Christ, As we worship Him, The Son of God. Save us, O Son of God, Who did rise from the dead, We sing to You: Alleluia

Resurrection Hymn (Tone Two)

When You descended unto death, O Lord Who Yourself are immortal Life, Then did You mortify Hades By the lightning flash of Your Divinity. Also when You raised the dead from the netherworld, All the Powers of the heavens were crying out: O Giver of life, Christ our God, glory to You.

Apolytikion for the Hieromartyr Becoming a partner with the Apostles in way of life And successor to their thrones, O God-inspired Saint, In the active life you found an entrance to contemplation. Hence you rightly expounded the word of truth, And you shed your blood in struggling for the faith, O Hieromartyr Babylas. Intercede with Christ our God, Beseeching that our souls be saved.

Church Hymn (Troparion of Pentecost) Blessed are You O Christ our God Who has shown the fishermen as wise men By sending down Your Holy Spirit upon them And through them, the whole world You drew into Your net O Lover of mankind, glory to You. Evlogitos i Hriste O Theos imon, O Pansofous tous aliis anadixas, Katapempsas aftis to Pnevma to agion, Ke thi afton tin ikoumenin saginefsas, Filanthrope doxa Si.

Kontakion Your birth delivered Joachim and Anna From the reproach of childlessness, And liberated Adam and Eve from death's corruption, O Pure One. Thus freed from the stain of sin, We your people honor your birth crying out to you: A woman thought barren brings forth the Theotokos Who nourishes Christ our Life.

After the Prayer of the Proskomidi I love you, O Lord my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my Savior.

Page 3: September 4 11th Sunday of Matthew

THE CREED OF FAITH (Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed) I believe in one God, Father Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages;

Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through

Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven

and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man.

He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead.

His kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life,

Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified,

Who spoke through the prophets. In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come.

Amen.

EPISTLE READING: St. Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians 9:2-12 BRETHREN, you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. This is my defense to those who would examine me. Do we not have the right to our food and drink? Do we not have the right to be accompanied by a wife, as the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas? Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working for a living? Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard without eating any of its fruit? Who tends a flock without getting some of the milk? Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law say the same? For it is written in the law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain." Is it for oxen that God is concerned? Does he not speak entirely for our sake? It was written for our sake, because the plowman should plow in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of a share in the crop. If we have sown spiritual good among you, is it too much if we reap your material benefits? If others share this rightful claim upon you, do not we still more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.

GOSPEL READING: The Gospel according to St. Matthew 18:23-35
