The backpack program is for lower income families. The children from these families get enough food for at least one meal each day of the weekend. After they were through with that they went upstairs and checked the paper and pens in the back of the pews. When this was finished, they still had a little time to go to the field of dreams. Supper was breakfast.............wow, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes, hash browns, blueberry muffins and banana pudding for dessert. Thank you Betty Hall, Cheryl Buttrey and Ann Heath, you did a fantastic job! Exod. 22:21-22 You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. Exod. 23:1-3 You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness. You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice, nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his lawsuit. Lev. 19:17-18 You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD. Isaiah 1:16-17 cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause. Romans 13:1-3 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval. James 2:8-9 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing well. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
