GHS senior Walker Allen and his Scotties are hosting the Glasgow Invitational at Kiwanis Park (Fort Peck) this Saturday which looks to be a beautiful day for a cross country meet. The athletes walk the course at 9:00. The Junior High girls run at 10:00 followed by the Junior High boys at 10:20. The high school girls take off at 10:40 and the gun fires at 11:15 for the high school boys. Scotty fans are urged to come out and watch your team.

  • "Scott Walker, the presidential candidate who is famous for riding a Harley, dropped out of the race. Walker made the decision when he realized that all of his supporters could fit on his Harley." ~ Conan O'Brien

"Political experts say it is increasingly likely that the federal government will be forced to shut down on October 1st due to the dispute over Planned Parenthood funding. Thats right ironically if lawmakers dont fund Planned Parenthood, there is no Plan B." ~ Seth Myers

"Researchers in Japan have found that several species of ape can remember and recall plot details from movies. Then there are the less advanced species of ape who whisper to you, Whos that guy? ~ Seth Myers

"Republican candidate Jeb Bush is struggling to get traction against Donald Trump. Trump is even dominating in Jeb's home state of Florida, where the former governor is behind by 15 points. That makes sense that Florida likes Trump they're used to life-size cartoon characters with giant heads." ~ Stephen Colbert

(Too bad a bunch more dont follow suit) John Bohner to resign John Boehner, the Ohio Republican who steered his party to an overwhelming House majority in 2010, told colleagues this morning that hes stepping down as Speaker and will leave Congress at the end of October. The abrupt decision comes after he faced heavy pressure from conservatives to take a harder line on their causes, most recently over defunding Planned Parenthood as part of a package that would keep the government open. Boehner, who has presided over the House since 2011, explained during a closed-door meeting with Republicans Friday morning that he had only planned to serve two terms as speaker but decided to hold onto his post after then-House Majority Leader Eric Cantor lost his seat during a primary last year. The vacancy leaves the party scrambling to find a successor. Boehners decision came as a shock to many, with his top deputy House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy finding out moments before his announcement. McCarthy, a California Republican, is a top candidate to succeed Boehner. Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, a GOP presidential candidate, told attendees at the summit that it was time for Boehner to step down, claiming that Boehner had changed a bit during his time in Washington. Its probably time for him to have stepped down to start a new chapter here in Washington, D.C., Santorum said. Senator Rand Paul echoed that message during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, calling Boehners resignation a step in the right direction.

A so-called supermoon full moon will pass through Earths shadow in what promises to be a dazzling total lunar eclipse Sunday night (Sept. 27) for skywatchers with clear skies. But if Mother Nature ruins your weekend, dont fret. You can still catch the lunar sight online at www.space.net. The last time there was a supermoon lunar eclipse, in 1982, moon observers had few, if any, options to watch the celestial event remotely. But today, a multitude online webcasts will ensure the lunar show goes on, rain or shine filmed from observatories across the world and guided by expert narration from researchers, historians, meteorologists and astronomers. And if you miss it this time, youll have to wait until 2033 to see the next such event, according NASA.

Fed up with his job, the proctologist decided to change professions. One day after seeing an advertisement for an auto mechanic school on TV, he decided to sign up. The doctor studied very hard and gave it the same level of excellence as he did when practicing medicine. The day of the final exam came. The doctor had to completely rebuild an engine, which he did in record time. When the grades were posted, he was surprised to see that he had achieved a score of 125%. Curious, he spoke to his teacher. I dont want to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, but how can I have gotten a score above 100%? he asked. Well said the instructor, You took the engine apart perfectly, that accounts for 50% of the grade. You put it back together flawlessly, that accounts for 50% or the grade. The extra 25% is because never in my career have I seen that all done through a two inch exhaust pipe!

I hate those people who knock on your door and tell you how you need to be saved or youll burn. Sometimes theyll even kick down your door... SO RUDE! Stupid firemen....

Two surgeons are laughing during an operation when a dermatologist walks by. Whats so funny? asks the dermatologist. Sorry, replies the surgeon, its a inside joke.

A priest, a doctor, and an engineer go golfing. Before long, they get stuck behind a group of golfers who seemed to be moving way slower than usual. One of the country club members explains to them that this is a group of blind men who lost their eyesight as firefighters, and the country club allows them to use the course once a year free of charge. The priest immediately chimes in and says, I am going to pray for these men everyday in my church to help their well being. The doctor then exclaims, Im going to get the best medical team in the country to find a way to help these men! The engineer then says, Why dont they just golf at night?
