St. Stephen’s Catholic School is a caring Christian community that
nourishes spiritual development and academic excellence.
September 24, 2015
From the desk of Mrs. Gus...
Since 1974, the Minnesota Marathon for Nonpublic Education events have given students, school
families, faculty members, and friends an opportunity to show their school pride while generating
important financial support for school programs. In 1975, the State Council of the Knights of Columbus
joined the effort. Since then, the Knights have provided financial support for Marathon events across the
state. We received a generous donation from our own Anoka Council 2018 and appreciate their support
of our school.
We participate in this state-wide event annually along with over a 100 Minnesota nonpublic schools. This
year, rather than a marathon, or a picnic, we will host a pancake breakfast on Sunday, September 27th.
A parent leadership committee, middle school students, the teachers and office staff will begin serving
breakfast at 8:00 AM. We will all celebrate mass together at 10:30 AM and rejoin families and
parishioners in the FCC for more pancakes and sausage. We will draw raffle prizes at 12:00 PM and fin-
ish serving at 12:30 PM. This event is our largest fundraiser, an event that will raise more than $68,000.
Our students solicit donations for this fundraiser or families sell raffle tickets. This year we have set our
goal high and need your support to ensure the success of our fundraiser and our school programs.
Every K-8 student is expected to raise at least $120 for this event. I am excited to see that so many
students and their families have gone above and beyond this expectation. Thank you so much!
Did you know that through a matching gifts program, many businesses will meet or increase charitable
contributions made by their employees to nonprofit organizations like our school. The impact of matching
gifts may double or possibly triple some pledges to our school! Please check with your employer to learn
if they offer matching gifts and how you can activate this opportunity. We are happy to work with you to
secure any grants or gifts for which you may be eligible.
So remember to return your fundraising fee and your raffle tickets this week. Join us for
pancakes, meet your child’s friends and celebrate 10:30 AM mass with the whole community!

ARTIST ACADEMY GRADES K-6 FEE $51
Artist Academy is a visual art enrichment program for children students that has new lessons each session. Our innovative procedure allows us to educate children in art from the historical art masters techniques and visual cues. Each student creates their own masterpiece inspired by the simple skills that they have learned throughout the session. RRAC is distinct in our dedication to developing artist technique as a foundation that springboards creativity and individuality at all levels of learning. We introduce novel types of mediums to create art from watercolor, acrylic inks to oil and chalk pastels. Students bring home an original art piece every session to share with family and friends. Parents and students alike have articulated how life changing our art course is.
