Respect Life Dr. Tony Levatino used to be an abortionist. Yet as he took the lives of unborn children day after day, he was saddened that he and his wife could not conceive one of their own- he did not miss the irony. Finally, he adopted a daughter. Yet some years later, this little girl was hit by a car in front of her house, and died. It was not long after this tragedy that Dr. Levatino stopped doing abortions. Now he is a strong pro-life advocate and speaks out boldly about the horror of abortion.

Catechetical Sunday Catechetical Sunday was September 15, 2013. For the pastoral activity of the Church, the cooperation of a great many people is needed so that communities as well as individuals may advance to full maturity in faith and continually show forth their faith through the celebration of the liturgy, study, and through their manner of life. Enlightened by God’s Word and the teaching of the Church, catechists impart to others the formation to live their lives as followers of Jesus Christ. The St. Francis Borgia School teachers and the Religious Education catechists received a special blessing as their respective school year commenced to aid them in their ministry of teaching and inspiring our parish children about the Catholic faith. We bless the name of the Lord for giving us those who teach the Catholic faith and pray that through the Holy Spirit they will receive the grace they need in their service to the Church and to our parish. Ruthanne Swiatkowski Director of Religious Education

Page Five Dear Friend in Christ, Our parish has been on the ToTeachWhoChristIsCampaign journey for several weeks now. We have been asking the question, “What does St. Francis Borgia mean to us?” If our parish family is im-portant to you and means something to you, then now is the time to support it and the life-changing work it does in our community. I am encouraging participation of each and every household. God has blessed all of us and all of us will bene it from this campaign’s efforts. Our success is going to depend on the participation of us all! Our parents and grandparents built these beautiful churches and schools and ministries in our diocese. And they were able to do so with far, far less than we have --- because they sacri iced! Let us stir up our faith and let us give in a way that would make them proud. Through our ToTeachWhoChristIs Campaign, let us continue to build God’s Kingdom in our corner of the world. Yours in Christ,

Who Will Fill These Shoes? … A few years ago one of our senior priests was retiring from the parish where he was pastor for many years. He was moving to a nursing home. At the end of his final mass at the parish he began to process out of church. He abruptly turned around, walked back to the steps of the main altar, took his shoes off and placed them in front of the altar. He faced the congregation and in a firm voice he asked, “Who Will Fill These Shoes?” and in a stunned silence, walked out of church. Thank you for your support of the Seminary System in our Archdiocese.

Page Seven Drodzy Bracia i Siostry w Chrystusie,

Nasza parafia uczestniczy w kampanii Uczyć Kim Jest Chrystus od kilku tygodni. Zostaliśmy zapytani: "Co dla nas znaczy Parafia Św. Franciszka Borgia?"

Franciszka Borgia.

W pewnym momencie gwałtownie się odwrócił, podszedł z powrotem do stopni głównego ołtarza, zdjął swoje buty i położył je przed ołtarzem. Spojrzał na zebranych i stanowczym głosem zapytał: „Kto będzie w stanie podjąć tą misję?”, potem w ciszy pełnej oszołomienia wyszedł z kościoła.
