Carports Under Construction

Construction is underway for the new carport at the Oakland County Sheriff Substation in Lyon Township! 19th Amendment Victory Flag Flies at Township Hall

At a regular meeting on June 3, 2019, the Lyon Township Board of Trustees unanimously approved a resolution celebrating the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, giving women the right to vote.

To commemorate the State of Michigan ratifying the 19th Amendment, the Township flew the 19th Amendment Victory Flag from June 10 to June 14, 2019. To commemorate the ratification of the 19th Amendment, the Township flew the Victory Flag again from August 24 to August 28, 2019. The 19th Amendment Victory Flag was designed by the National Women’s Party. The flag colors – purple, white, and yellow – stood for loyalty, purity, and hope, respectively. The flag is decorated with 36 stars, which represents the number of states required to approve the amendment.

Frazer Cremations & Funerals Welcomed to Township

Frazer Cremations & Funerals, a new business in Lyon Township, hosted a Kensington Valley Chamber of Commerce Breakfast on August 9th. Chamber members, including Lyon Township Economic Development Coordinator Tina Archer, had an opportunity to tour the facility and learn more about the industry. This family-owned and operated business is located at 21001 Pontiac Trail, in the southwest business corridor of the Township near 8 Mile Road. The owners are Clayne and Julie Frazer, pictured with their son Clayne, Jr. and daughter Skylar.
