Amtech conducted seminar on “Energy Conservation by VFD / SCADA / Automationin water & waste water industry” for Gujarat Water Supply and Services Board(GWSSB), in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Once Lakshmidevi and Shanidev went to Indradev and asked,“Lord, Indra, who out of we two is more beautiful? Please tell us.”Indra thought cautiously – If I say Lakshmi, then Shani will getangry with me and will punish me; if I say Shani, then Lakshni willget annoyed with me and all wealth will leave me over a period oftime and I will be poor. Hence he said, “ oth of you are soBbeautiful, that it is beyond my capacity to judge. You both askLord Brahma.” Shani and Lakshni went to Brahmadev and askedthe same question.
Brahma smiled and said, “ oth of you walk to that Banyan tree in front of us. Touch theBtree and come back to me. Then I will tell who is more beautiful” Shani and Lakshmi did.accordingly and came back to Brahma. To satisfy their anxiety, Brahma replied, “I wasobserving both of you minutely. I found that Shani was looking more beautiful while hewas going away from me, whereas Lakshmi was looking more beautiful, when she wascoming towards me.” Both Shani and Lakshmi, smiled with satisfaction, bowed beforeBrahma and went back.Morale: You should always speak the truth or what is appropriate, but without hurtinganybody.

Current armonics are generated due to non-linear loads, i.e. the loads which draw non-sinusoidal currents fromha sinusoidal voltage source. Current harmonics lead to voltage harmonics due to finite source impedance.
Harmonics are multiples of fundamental frequency, such as 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 etc. This is called order of harmonics.nd rd th th
DC value in AC is called as sub-harmonic at zero frequency. Normally in a three-phase system even harmonicsare not generated due to waveform symmetry. Hence we will consider only DC and odd harmonics in this topic.
Influence of DC inAC or sub-harmonic at zero frequency:
The DC in AC is generated due to unequal firing of diodes or thyristors connected to positive and negative of DClink in converters. DC component inAC leads to:
1. Saturation of transformers, thus increasing magnetic losses.
2. When anAC voltage containing DC component is applied toAC motor, it leads to more starting current.
3. DC component leads to braking torque, which needs to be overcome while motor is running. Hence itincreases motor losses in running conditions.
Influence of triplen armonics:h
The harmonics which are multiples of third harmonic such as 3 , 9 , 15 , 21 (as only odd harmonics arerd th th st
considered) are known as triplen harmonics. They generate zero sequence currents.
In a three phase four wire system the neutral cable carries only the unbalance part of three phase currents, asthe balanced part adds to zero. But when the frequency of currents is three or multiple of three times thefundamental frequency, such currents add in neutral. Thus neutral may get overloaded and can burn eventuallydue to overheating.
Influence of 5 , 11 , 17 , 23 etc armonics:th th th rd
h
These are also (6N - 1) harmonics. Apart from the other effects such as proximity effect, skin effect etc. commonto all harmonics, these harmonics generate negative sequence torque. Hence if the motor is running in forwarddirection, these harmonics will try to rotate the motor in reverse direction. Thus they will create additional losses. They will also result in pulsating torques especially at lower speeds.
Influence of 7 , 13 , 19 , 25 etc armonics:th th th th
h
These are also (6N +1) harmonics. Apart from the other effects such as proximity effect, skin effect etc. commonto all harmonics, these harmonics generate positive sequence torque. Hence if the motor is running in reversedirection, these harmonics will try to rotate the motor in forward direction. Thus they will create additional losses. They will also result in pulsating torques especially at lower speeds.
Higher Order harmonics are more harmful than lower order ones due to pronounced eddy current losses, hysteresis losses, copper losses (due to skin effect). They also have more proximity effects.
They lead to more RFI and EMI related problems.
Lower Order harmonics though less harmful than higher order harmonics – are not preferred as they are moredifficult to filter than higher order harmonics.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
DISTRIBUTION CENTRE INTRA LOGISTIC AUTOMATION-
Companies who want to increase profits will find few places that can yield more in terms of cost savings andcustomer satisfaction than their distribution center, order fulfilment systems, shipping areas, or warehouses.Proper distribution center operations hinge on physical layout & material flow, the right equipment, intelligentprocesses, safe & productive employees, and accurate information.
The range of solutions goes beyond what most manufacturers can offer within the narrow confines of theirproduct lines. That's why Amtech can play such an important and vital role in the creation of better distributionsystems.
Amtech is focused on the material flow and process issues that most distribution centers face:
Product Flow must be constant and controllable: with consulting services, material handlingsystems integration, and years of experience, we provide you with the best possible plan.
What creates the best flow of productsInaccurate, slow picking processes cannot be tolerated:through the system? We believe that the solution is different in every case. Is it picked quickly?Accurately? At the right time? There are solutions that work for every situation. It's a matter of s e l e c t i n gthe right one.
Understanding how space, equipment, and processes interactSpace must be utilized to its fullest:with each other can give you more SKU's ( tock eeping nit) in the same area...plus the ability to easilyS K Ureplenish and pick them.
We understand that material handling is a value-add, not a core mission forCosts must be contained:you. All the same, with well planned materials handling systems, money saved in material h a n d l i n gprocesses translate directly to your bottom line.
Automation system controls the operation with user friendly display. System provides Auto start/stop by sensingof incoming material. It also prevents jamming of material during transportation for safety.
The new generation of control system, developed by integrates the operation ofAmtech Electronics (India) Ltd,d -istribution center intra logistic with the use of PLC and SCADAbased automation system and conveyors.
D -istribution center intra logistic automation controls and monitors the finished goods incoming and outgoing flow.A - automation system controls the failsafe operation for the intra logistic. Customized solution of distribution center s per thedimensions of the material to be transported within warehouse area.
