District 2 4-H Leadership Workshop/District Council Dance
WHEN: Thursday, July 11th TIME: 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. COST: $20 for 4-Hers ( If you participated in the D2 4-H H2O Camp, this has already been paid.)
Come learn about How to Have a Fun Club Meeting; Trashion; Gardening; Photography; 4-H Camps; & 4-H dance in the evening.

Hale County Achievement Banquet
WHEN: Saturday, August 17th at 6:00 p.m.
WHERE: Ollie Liner Center
Achievement Banquet 4-H Year Pins All Hale County 4-H members must attend 4 club meetings to be eligible to receive a 4-H year pin at the 2019 Achievement Banquet. Each club secretary is responsible for keeping an accurate record of each 4-Hers attendance at their club meeting. The club secretary must also submit these names to the Extension office after the final meeting in May. All names need to be turned in to the Hale County Extension Office by Tuesday, June 4th. Secretary Books are due Wednesday, June 19th by 9:00 a.m.
4-H Award Jackets & Patches All 4-H team coaches are reminded it is your responsibility to turn in your teams results from the District 2 4-H sanctioned contests. Parents, please make sure if your child competes as an individual in a contest you turn in the results to the Extension Office. The results determine which 4-Hers receive their jackets and patches at the 4-H Achievement Banquet.
Jacket Fund Donors Needed With the Achievement Banquet rapidly approaching, it’s time to build up the Jacket Fund. 4-H jackets are awarded to those 4-H’ers who won first place at a District or State contest. If you would like to contribute, send your donation to Beverly Wall, 720 FM 400, Plainview, TX 79072 or contact her at home 293-1037 or on her mobile 774-1040. Checks need to be made payable to: 4-H Award Jacket Account. Making a donation will add your name to the prestigious donor list!
Photos Needed for Achievement Banquet We are needing people to submit their 4-H photos from the year so we can begin working on the 4-H slide show to be shown at the Hale County 4-H Achievement Banquet in August. Photos may be submitted to: [email protected]. This slide show will be shown at other events too so submitting photos may be counted as promotional leadership. Deadline to submit photos: Monday, August 5th

We will be discussing the Incentive Trip and 4-H Achievement Banquet.

We will be discussing Incentive Trip, 4-H Achievement Banquet, and voting on awards. We would like to see as many adult leaders as possible attend this meeting. If you have questions, please call Audra Graves at the Extension office.

Due to the distance of this trip, all Clover Kids and 4-Hers must be accompanied by an adult family member.

Summer Classes All items made will be kept at the Hale County Extension office until the South Plains Fair in the Fall. Items will be returned after the South Plains Fair. Mary Ann James will be teaching the canning classes. Mrs. James has won numerous canning awards at the South Plains Fair.

WHEN: Saturday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. Clover Kids and 4-Hers should be on the float no later than 9:45 a.m. WHERE: Meet at Santa Fe Depot
Everyone will be dropped off at the Ollie Liner Center after the parade. Adults will be needed to walk beside the float to throw candy. Please bring candy to the parade. If you would like to help decorate or ride on the float, please call Beverly Wall at 806-774-1040, Rachel Barbian at 806-701-0976, or the Hale County Exten-sion Office.
75th Annual Bar-None Rodeo
WHEN: Saturday, July 13th WHERE: Bar-None Rodeo Arena, South Date Street
Event Job and Shift Times: Take Money at Gate: Must have 2 Adults Present! 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (2 Adults and 4-Hers) 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (2 Adults and 4-Hers)
Concession Stand: Intermediate and Senior 4-Hers ONLY! 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (1-3 4-Hers) 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (1-3 4-Hers) 9:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (1-3 4-Hers)
All volunteer 4-Hers will receive free admission to the rodeo. The Bar-None Rodeo Association is also provid-ing a community service for FISH. All children 10 and under: Free Admission with a canned food item will be donated to FISH.
Red , White & Moo Parade/4-H Float Chairmen: Hagen & Colson Pate
WHEN: Thursday, July 4th at 10:00 a.m. Clover Kids and 4-Hers should be on the 4-H float no later than 9:45 a.m. WHERE: Old Centennial Bank, 201 W. 6th St.
Adults will be needed to walk beside the float to throw candy. Please bring candy to the parade. 4-Hers will be dropped off at the Courthouse Square. If you would like to help decorate or ride on the float, please call Leigha Pate at 806-549-3810, Beverly Wall at 806-774-1040, or the Hale County Extension Office.
Red, White & Moo Celebration Chairman: Hanna Bozeman
WHEN: Thursday, July 4th at the Courthouse Square The Dairy Women Association is sponsoring the Red, White & Moo event. 4-Hers and adults are needed to help with the petting zoo.
Free milk, cheese, ice cream and gogurts will be given.
Event times are as follows: (If you ride in the parade, please sign up for Shift 2) 10:00 a.m. - Red, White and Moo Parade Shift 1: 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (Need 3 adults and 5 4-Hers) Shift 2: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Need 3 adults and 5 4-Hers)
Please call the Extension Office at 291-5270 to sign-up. For more information, contact Beverly Wall at 774-1040. If you are a volunteer and would like a Red, White and Moo shirt, they will be given out to volunteers on a “first come, first serve” basis. No youth sizes will be available. Please make sure you are on time to work your shift.
