This summer has brought out some strong and compassionate female leadership.

This is a physical manifestation of the divine feminine in daily events. I believe it

was Neale Donald Walsch who wrote that politics is your spirituality applied. I am

not usually a political person, but the public display of some strong stances by

female leaders caught my attention. In South Carolina the governor Nikki Haley

called for the removal of the confederate flag as a symbol of hate following a racially

based shooting in a church. Watch the pivotal and heart centred speech of fellow

Senator Jenny Horne, a descendent herself of the only confederate president, who

called for the house to choose compassion over heritage in their flag removal vote.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/09/us/south-carolina-jenny-horne-speech/ . It truly moved me.

In Canada, I wept when British Columbia Premier Christy Clark took a stand saying

Canadians are fortunate and have a responsibility to help the less fortunate refugees.

The migrant crisis in Europe has, for months, shone a light onto the limitations of

nationalism in a heart based global society. In Britain, migrants are publically

vilified in the media with dehumanising language. An unlikely heroine named

“White Dee” Kelly, a TV celebrity from the UK reality show Benefits Street, visited

the migrant camps at Calais and listened to the refugees. She, of course, was vilified

by her own nationals for doing so, but she modelled feminine heart based leadership

in a crisis. Leaders come in all forms and from all social classes. A leader is simply

one who sees that something needs to be righted and does it. On the opposite end of

the political power spectrum, the female German Chancellor, Angela Merke,l also

was the first European elected leader to officially bring in refugees to her country.

Nationalism is a root chakra ideology. Our roots are our family, our tribe, our race, our culture, our socio-economic class, our

community, our nation, our religion or even as mundane as the organization we work for, the union we support or the sports

team we root for. Roots keep us grounded and safe. We are protected by the group. We all need to feel safe and protected

otherwise we cannot grow. Parents know that there is a natural and gradual process of individuation that occurs as we evolve

from dependent children to independent thinkers. A sign of an evolved person is one who is not afraid to question their

understanding of root chakra associations rather than blindly follow. Group think can impede our growth and protect us in

equal measure. Roots are essential. When people find themselves uprooted, they struggle with finding their footing. Higher

chakra related activities such as achievement, empathy, and insight are hindered. The same is true of people who feel their

roots are threatened. Security is important. The challenge in the twenty-first century is to bring conscious awareness to our

roots. How much of what we think we believe is what we individually espouse and how much is unconscious habits, rituals,

traditions and actions? Do we feel our way through life interacting with others from the perspective of the group or do we

reach above and feel our way from the heart?

Shungite is found in the Shunga area of the Republic of Karelia.

It is solid black like coal or jet. It is 2 billion years old, predates

known life on Earth, and is predominantly carbon.

There are several theories as to its origins. Some say it comes

from decomposed algae formed in a primordial ocean. Others

suggest it originated from plant material when a meteor fell on

earth or that is was formed of volcanic ash. Peter the Great of

Russia created the first Martial Waters Spa in the 1700’s where

the waters were purified by the natural Shungite deposits deep

below. It is said he made all soldiers carry a piece of Shungite.

Shungite may not be a pretty stone by sparkly standards, but it

is very powerful. It is the only known mineral to contain

Fullerenes which has natural anti-oxidant properties. Three

British professors R. Curl, H. Kroto and R. Smalley, were

awarded a Noble prize in 1996 for their research on Fullerenes.

Fullerenes, incidentally, has also been found in outer space.

I picked up a bag of Shungite stones at my rock wholesaler’s. It

didn’t strike me as the type of stone I would normally use to

make jewelry. So, I put them down. An interesting thing

happened. I had a lung infection and when I picked the

Shungite up it was as if my lungs opened up and I could breathe

normally again. I carried on with my shopping, then before I

cashed out I went back and picked up a bag of Shungite again. I

had the same reaction in my chest, so I bought it. I am not sure

what I will do with it yet, but it convinced me of its powerful

healing. This irreverently humorous “Shungite is not for

Sissies” blog, rings true for me after my experience with it. http://stacierocks.blogspot.ca/2012/11/shungite-not-for-sissies.html

After I doubted the Shungite, it seems it decided to teach me a

lesson. I ignored my intuition to put a piece on my chest as soon

as got to the car. I realized at home the Shungite had been left

at the store. Now I have to wait for it to be mailed out to me.

Ps- I waited a month for the Shungite and it never arrived despite me calling the owner right away. He told me he looked for me in the parking lot that day and did not see me, but he would put it in the post it right away. Six weeks later I went back to pick it up and they had no record of it but gave me the bag

anyway. Now that I have demonstrated my respect the Shungite is here. I use it to counter the electro-magnetic frequencies (EMFs) around my computer

and cell phone and often tuck a piece in my bra when I am out. I will wire wrap a few of the other pieces to

wear as pendants. I am also looking into finding Shungite cell phone disks for clients.

Our Summer Stalls

My mum and I had great fun downtown at the Summer

Market in the Square and met so many great people.

Coaching Questions:

Are you a leader in your own life?

What or who do you question?

Who or what do you stand up for?

What makes you feel safe?

Who do you feel compassion for?

Who do you feel comfortable with?

How does the divine feminine show up

in your daily life?

Practice makes perfect!

We all feel mildly unsettled from time to

time. Maybe you have been upset or feeling

anxious or feel light headed from confusion.

When we feel like that we may be

disconnected from our physical body.

One mindfulness technique to get grounded

again is to bring attention to your feet. The

feet connect us to Mother Earth. We can do

this best by putting bare feet on the ground.

We then connect directly with the magnetic

energy field of the planet. Sometimes, that is

not an option, so we can use visualizations

instead. Imagine roots coming from the soles

of your feet reaching deep into earth. If you

feel especially spacey, imagine wrapping the

roots three times around the iron core of the

planet. If you are more of a feeling person,

feel your feet growing heavy. You can also

feel your feet growing warmer. This actually

is a good technique for headaches as it can

increase blood flow to the feet away from the

head especially when you swing arms also.
