    Southgate Afterschool is a structured program

    for 1st-6th graders.

    Pre-registration is required.

    You can pick up your form at Southgates front

    desk. Homework help is available, as well as co-

    operative games, indoor/outdoor basketball,

    board games, community service projects, cook-

    ing, field trips, arts & crafts and more.

    Your child must be registered in order to attend

    the program.

    CLCP (Computer Learning Center Partnership) is a project based

    curriculum that includes Reading is Fundamental (RIF) program and

    other literacy activities, homework assistance, enrichment activities, field

    trips, and community service projects.

    Kids Enrichment Clubs (Mondays & Fridays)

    Youth are able to choose from a variety of clubs that offer them a

    chance to explore some of their interests further.

    Clubs: Art, Basketball, Music, Movie Making, Photography, Science

    and Gardening.

    Fab 5 Fitness Program (Wednesdays During After-School Program)

    FAB 5 is a fun and motivating after school program curriculum created to empower students to

    become responsible for their own fitness and health. The Fab 5 program is ideal for increasing

    student activity levels and learning content. These programs and easy to follow lessons were

    developed with classroom teachers and activity in mind.

    Teen activities consist of homework assistance as well as a variety of

    recreation and enrichment activities (sports and fitness, nutrition,

    cooking projects, arts & crafts, multicultural activities, life educational

    skills and field trips. All participants must register in order to

    participate in activities.

    Hello Southgate Teens! Come join me for Multicultur-

    al Cooking at the Southgate Community Center. We

    will be making different foods from around the globe

    as well as trying out different recipes that you bring

    from home. All recipes will be easy to make, so come

    over to Southgate so that we can have a little taste of

    the world one week at a time!

    $17. Open registration is available at Southgate at the time of the

    The Specially Adapted Resource Club (S.P.A.R.C.) is an accessible

    club for adults with physical and or development disabilities in

    consumer issues.

    Capital Mobile Food Bank Distribution 10am to 12pm

    Southgate Community Center will be the next location for the Mobile Market program, this food bank is able to deliver fresh produce monthly to high-needs neighborhoods throughout the DC metropolitan area. 88 Mobile Market locations are currently

    operating in partnership with community organizations. Southgate is proud to have this resource here in your community.

    These Mobile Marketplaces are operated monthly in a farmers market style that distributes produce. They target high density areas with high rates of food insecurity, spotlight community service providers, and feature cooking demonstrations.
