Chamber Completes Communications Study

In Spring 2014, HCCC had the pleasure of working with the Advanced Marketing Class at Hillsdale who completed a Communications Study for the Chamber. The study focused on several areas including: What current methods HCCC currently uses to communicate

with our membership and what methods they prefer The frequency by which HCCC communicates with our membership and the frequency they prefer The frequency and types of HCCC events (B2B networking,

breakfasts, luncheons, seminars, etc.) of importance to our membership

How HCCC can more effectively promote their important role in economic and business development to our membership, not-yet-members, and the greater Hillsdale County community From the study, the students created a Communications Plan. Several of the recommendations are already implemented such as our new tag “Because Business is Community”. Over the remainder of 2014, look for additional changes based on the plan recommendations including: How, and how frequently, we communicate with you, especially

focusing on more one-on-one interaction The types and frequency of Chamber sponsored events, with

significant changes to our event schedule October promotional campaign “Michigan Chambers of Commerce Month” highlighting the important but sometimes unseen work, HCCC does in the community We think you’ll be pleased with the changes designed to make HCCC a stronger, more sustainable organization while at the same time providing continued and additional value to our existing and not-yet-members. Kind Regards, Christine Bowman Executive Director

Introducing….. Debbie Eppel, Services Coordinator

Please welcome Debbie, our newest team member.

Always with a smile, she handles the day-to-day duties at the Chamber office, making certain things are running smoothly. She is also responsible for maintaining our member database, an important information source used to provide B2B and consumer referrals, populate our online searchable member business listing, and the source from which we create a printed member business listing included in visitor and relocation packets. You can expect to hear her pleasant voice on the phone over the next several months as she reaches out to our membership, verifying member business contact information, website or Facebook links, and other items pertinent to our individual members’ listings.

Welcome Back….. Stephanie Gordon, Member Events Coordinator

The Chamber is happy to welcome back our valued team member Stephanie.

After a hiatus during which she welcomed her beautiful baby Eloise, Stephanie returns in a new home-based role overseeing Chamber event marketing and planning. She will also provide support to the Executive Director on special projects, initiatives and the Chamber’s on-line, social and print media presence.
