BETA THETA CHAPTER
It's hard to believe that summer is almost over and it's back to school time! Our first meeting this school year will be on September 9th at the Senior Center at 4:00. Hopefully by then you will have received your new yearbook for this biennium and seen the hostess and committee assignments. For those who wish to participate, we will be drawing for Secret Sisters. If there is anyone who would like to coordinate this, please let me know. I look forward to seeing everyone on the 9th at the Senior Center. Fraternally, Anne

Member NewsFrom Sister Karla Jennings
Karla Jennings, along with her sister and niece, traveled to Italy May 9 - May 24. On their 15 day trip they traveled to Venice, Lucca, Cortona, Rome, Sorrento, Pompeii, and the Isle of Capri. They traveled by plane, boat, and train and stayed in bed and breakfast during most of the trip. They had a great time meeting many Italian locals and eating authentic Italian food.
From Sister Terri CarpenterLaura graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill on May 11th with double majors in Public Policy and Communications. Anna is a Camp Counselor at Camp Mundo Vista in Ashboro. I have had a quiet relaxing summer. I hope you have enjoyed yours.
Have you ever visited the ADK website? It contains lots of great ADK information. There is also a section for sisters to submit poetry. This is one poem found there.

Teachers are ForeverA laugh—a smile—a stern reproachWhere are the children who earned them?
"They have gone on to greater things."Say teachers they left behind them.
For sayings go by those who knowThat each student's life endeavor
Is the result, product, and proofThat teachers' lives are forever.

From Sister Amy Fraboni
Each summer my son, Andrew, has the opportunity to spend a month in upstate New York with family, and attending a variety of camps. His favorite activity at camp this year was sailing. (He is in the orange hat.)

Reminder
