Greetings to everyone on this autumn day. Hopefully, by the time you read this, our shed is under construction. Thanks for ramrodding this project, Bill! The Lenexa Police Dept. Breakfast honoring the Marine Corps is November 8th. Please arrive early –after 8 am, there may be no food left. November 9 and 11, from 1100 to 1530, volunteers are needed at area Walmarts to collect for Platoons Forward, the VFW Post’s project for frontline Marines in Afghanistan. Contact Steve Thomas for location assignments. Speaking of volunteers, the Marine of the Year was a tough pick with so many qualified candidates – it was a tough decision and you will learn the results at the meeting. I urge everyone to continue giving of yourself and your time for the good of the League – Toys for Tots is already shoring up for a

Mail Call Marine Corps League Mission Statement: Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy, voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines and former Marines and to their widows and orphans; and to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.
