Phase I • Contractor has resolved punch list items regarding the
paving, walks, bridge and has begun final movement of pedestrian signals
• Completed additional comments from the City for items left out of the water main installation
• Work has begun to install final street light footing near Hickory Slough bridge
Phase II • TxDOT accepted bids in August • Construction scheduled to begin in October • Duration is 16 months (February 2013)
Cullen Parkway
Phase II – Mary’s Creek Bypass to SH35 • Public works completed the filling and
grading of the Oakbrook HOA pond • CPE responded that streetlights could be
installed and provided cost agreement; staff requested cost breakdown from CPE
• Completed signal pre-emption installation • No active work on punchlist work by
contractor
Dixie Farm Road
• All concrete paving west of SH35 completed • All utilities are complete both east and west of SH 35 • TxDOT issued a Temporary Permit for the project • Coordinating with TxDOT and utilities for the signal
installation at SH35 • Substantial completion scheduled for late October • Full opening of SH35 intersection is dependent upon
TxDOT completion of the new signal
Walnut Reconstruction
Construction Phase III – Morgan to Harkey and CR 89
• Completed 2nd Final inspection of work; items remain outstanding
• Contractor continued to complete punchlist items • Engineers working on red-line/record drawings
Magnolia Road
• Orange west of the Mykawa re-opened last Monday; working on Cedar/Orange intersection
• Westbound Orange is closed between Mykawa and Woody
• Contractor submitted a revised schedule, working in multiple phases in order to meet the project schedule
• Next closure will be westbound Orange between Woody and Hatfield
Orange Street
• CenterPoint Gas pulled permits to begin
relocating their facilities • CenterPoint Energy contractors continued
overhead power relocations • Enterprise Pipeline mobilized for relocation
Bailey Road (Veterans to FM1128)
McHard Road (Soundwall Construction)
• Performed final walk-through with contractor;
one item remaining to be addressed • Processing deductive final Change Order • Closing out contract
• 90% plans due mid month • Continued coordination with developer,
County staff and CR59 designers • Held coordination meeting with County to
discuss intersection at CR 59
Business Center Drive
• Contractor is completing sidewalks, driveways and street light foundations on west side
• FM518 intersection work was scheduled to begin in October
• Incident with contaminated areas will cause a delay in the intersection work; TCEQ is involved
• Leaking USTs previously cleared by TCEQ • TxDOT conducting a Phase II ESA • Potential asphalt transition to move traffic to new
lanes if this causes a significant delay • TxDOT has completed the redesign of the traffic
signal for the Walnut intersection
SH35 – BW8 to FM518
• Eastbound pavement work (excluding shoulder pavement) is complete
• Traffic switched to new pavement at Kirby Drive
• Traffic signal drill shafts operation started • Project is on schedule for completion in
January 2012
FM 2234 Widening
• The controlling server has been preprogrammed and is ready for installation in the computer room at Hillhouse once the building is substantially complete and habitable
• Final base station antenna was installed on the Hillhouse building and the fiber optic interdict has been installed
• Fiber optic cable has been pulled

Diversion Ditch • DD4 continued excavation of diversion ditch west

and City staff to review plans
Cowart Creek Diversion
• Substantial walkthrough completed on 10/6 • TCO pending • Installing Adaptive Signal System servers this
week
Hillhouse Road Service Center
• Contractor is still behind on the construction schedule
• December 7th latest completion date • County Road 58 expansion project is
continuing
Fire Station #6
• Bid document and specification revisions were completed
• The project advertised on Sept. 21st and Sept. 28th
• Staff is monitoring accessibility and response to the E-Bid system and answering a few questions regarding the new system
• Bids due Oct. 13th
Pearland Gateway – Project Stars
• Contractor mobilized on site • Storm water protection installed and began
grade work • Submittal approval process begun
Trail Connectivity
• Drafted Interlocal agreement with BDD4 • Staff working on draft developer agreement with
MUD engineer and developer on CR 403 and future subdivision utility and drainage needs
• Staff completed review 75% Pond & 75% CR403 plans and draft H&H report
• Property acquisition ongoing • Engineer completed environmental report and
drafted PCN for USACE

30” Waterline Interconnect
• HMI and their electrical subcontractor conducted a preliminary inspection with the City of Houston on the City of Houston SCADA portion of the meter station
• HMI energized the cathodic protection system for the ductile iron water line along Fuqua and Monroe Street

Alice Street Water Plant • Industrial and their subcontractors worked on general
cleanup items and punchlist items from the August 30th preliminary inspection of the facilities
• Industrial completed filling the GST with water and leakage testing was successfully completed
• Completed the initial onsite generator training with City staff
• Completed the initial SCADA testing and confirmed radio communication with JHEC
• Responded to previously returned review comments from 30% review
• Reviewed latest update to Construction Cost Estimate of $3.3 million still on target
• Discussed use of Nova Filters at both plants, with common warranties and spare parts
• Planning to use E-bid format for bidding this project
Longwood WWTP Rehabilitation
• Reviewing 90% plans submitted on 9/1 • Working on Instrumentation and Operation
plans • Reviewed possible alternate Centrifuge

Barry Rose WWTP Rehabilitation
• Survey and geotechnical, and Phase 1 ESA work ongoing
• Draft Phase 1 ESA report reviewed • Approved contract amendment to adjust scope of
work regarding McLean segment elimination, addition of environmental investigation/permitting for Mary’s Creek crossing and addition of segment at Centennial Park
• Reviewed alternate route to avoid the depth issue where the Corrigan Ditch outfall crosses Fite Rd.
Hatfield Basin Trunk Sewer
Far Northwest Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements
• Consultant finalizing the report on the Decanter System • Make improvements per the manufacturer’s
recommendation (mfg’s cost) • Replace butterfly valves with plug valves
(City’s cost) • Replace system at next plant expansion
• Met with UV system manufacturer regarding issues with the system • Move forward with UV system replacement
Old Alvin 20” Waterline
• Updated PER draft submitted as well as alignment alternatives for the line
• The design contract has been amended to relocate and up-size a storm sewer line north of Orange
• Relocating the storm sewer prevents a future conflict with the widening of Old Alvin Road project
• Phase II ESA field work performed; contaminated soils issues identified near FM518 and Old Alvin

• Council awarded consultant design agreement • Held kick off meeting with engineer • Completed site visit with engineer • Survey and environmental work authorized
