Greetings Neighbors and Friends!

Happy Fall!

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer that is not over yet! We have

a few more weeks of warm weather and the crabs are still running. The

board has had a busy summer. We have finally, after 2 years of work,

reorganized the by-laws and cleaned up some of the language that was

redundant and unnecessary. The point was to make all of our by -laws

and constitution concise and easy to understand. Please make sure you

look them over, as our association members will be voting on them at

our General Membership meeting on September 19 th at 7:30 PM. THIS

IS A CHANGE. We had a number of board members who could not

make the original date and we wanted as many members there as possi-

ble.

The property on Coralie Court has finally been sold! It has taken a year

for us to make this happen. The money we have collected for the prop-

erty will be incorporated into next year’s budget, with a discussion at

the general membership meeting in September. We are looking at set-

ting aside some of the monies for capital projects fund for hall renova-

tions, ramp repairs, and improving our beaches.

Nominations and elections are coming up in September for the new

year. We will be voting at the September general meeting.

My big project this fall is to gather all files and documents from neigh-

bors and have them housed at the hall in one location so it is easy to

access. Eventually, we would like to save everything electronically so

they are always available. If anyone has any files, documents, papers,

maps, or electronic files, please drop them off at the hall the night of

the September meeting or call me and I can pick them up from you. My

number is 410-360-1591.

Hope to see you in September!

Community Beaches and Property

Reminder

For all our beach users, please remember that

the beaches and community properties are for

all our residents to enjoy, but they are for

people, not vehicles.

You are allowed to carry your kayak or canoe

across community property to launch from a

beach, but please use the community boat ramp

to launch trailered boats and personal watercraft.

Please do not park on roadways with signage that

says’ “No Parking”! Examples of this are Long

Point Road and Gibson Rd. Long Point has a bike

lane and Gibson Rd. is narrow and large vehicles

can’t fit down there. Cars will be towed.

Public Service Announcements Help us keep our neighborhood safe!

IT’S BACK TO SCHOOL TIME! Our kids are walking to and standing at bus stops! Please be cautious on our windy roads...

...and long summer days are winding down and it ’s getting dark ear-lier and earlier! That means drivers need to keep a lookout for walkers and bikers in the dark; walkers and bikers, protect yourself! Wear light clothing and/or reflective gear.

You may have noticed that our roads have no sidewalks and few shoulders! Please be alert and considerate when you are driving, and if you are biking or a pedestrian, follow road rules and pay attention to traffic.

Pssss...don’t forget to keep an eye out for our abundant wildlife, too.

Practice good community stewardship! It’s so simple to leave it better than you found it! Pick up after yourself in public areas, don’t throw trash from your car windows...

...and pick up after your pet! It is county code for a pet owner to remove “any ex-creta deposited by his or her animal on public walks, recreation areas, or private property other than his own.”

Keep your furry friends safe! For your pet’s safety and for the safety of others, please keep your animals on leash and/or in your control when off your prop-erty at all times (plus, it’s the LAW!)

Proper fencing and secure tethers will help keep your dogs law-fully within your control while on your property. Please remember that others may not love your pet as much as you do. Be respectful of your neighbors!

**DOG OWNERS OF LONG POINT** Please secure your dogs when walking AND when they are in your yard. There have been a number of incidents that have occurred with dogs running loose or getting out of a fenced yard or off tether. PLEASE be mindful!
