WHAT IS ARTPRIZE?Created in 2009, ArtPrize is an international art competition that takes place over 19 days every other year in Grand Rapids, MI. Over 1200 artists take over downtown and the surrounding areas to compete for $250,000 in prizes. The public determines the winners via votes they cast through a smartphone app. The grand prize winner receives $200,000.

ArtPrize is free to the public and attracts over 500,000 visitors, making it the most attended public art event in the country. The mission of ArtPrize is to celebrate artists, encourage critical discourse, transform urban space and promote cultural understanding.

ArtPrize is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Support from corporate sponsors represents our largest source of revenue, accounting for over 60% of ArtPrize’s $3.2 million operating budget in 2018.

Presenting Sponsor: Public VotePresenting sponsor of the Public Vote is one of the highest profile positions in the entire event. $250,000 in prizes are awarded through the public vote, including a $200,000 grand prize. Throughout the 19 days of the competition, hundreds of thousands of votes are submitted via the mobile app. Each time a vote is sent, sponsor will be branded on the visitor’s confirmation page. Sponsor will also have a prominent position in the live broadcasts that occur throughout the event.

Presenting Sponsor: ArtPrize DistrictsNew for 2020, we’re enhancing the way visitors experience ArtPrize. One of the most ambitious new projects is ArtPrize Districts, which will organize the event in new and exciting ways. Just as some theme parks are divided into “kingdoms,” ArtPrize will divide its footprint into “districts” and cluster visitor services, programming, events and hospitality around a single anchor point within each district. This will simplify the footprint in an engaging way and make more clear where events and services are located.

This is an opportunity to be the presenting sponsor of an ArtPrize District and to have significant branding at the anchor point and throughout the event’s print and digital collateral.

Presenting Sponsor of Award Categories Artist submissions are placed into one of four categories, each with a dedicated prize. The Category Presenting Sponsor has its design collateral integrated into all official broadcasts (in coordination with our broadcast partner, NBC-affiliate WOOD TV8) along with an opportunity to present the award during a live, televised awards ceremony.

Current award categories include:• Time-Based – entries that are durational and change over

time, such as performance, video, film, dance and music• Installation – entries that are dependent on the site in

which they are installed• 2-D – entries that exists primarily on a flat plane, such as
