The festival would start fromOctober 10 and continue fornine days featuring series ofreligious and cultural pro-grammes. DC Reasi has beendesignated as Nodal officer forthe festival this year.

The meeting was informedthat the nine day festivitieswould start with inaugurationof the festival on October 10,2018 at 11 am at the AsiaChowk Katra followed byShobha Yatra and a grandevent showcasing the culturalheritage of the state and thecountry.

Briefing the meeting, DirectorTourism informed that variousevents will be organized duringthe festival days including pres-entation of Mata Rani kiKahani, Ram Leela, PrabhatPehris, folk festival, devotionalsong competition, wrestlingcompetition and various othercultural programmes. Themeeting also proposed to intro-duce Bhagvat Katha during thefestival.

Divisional Commissioner hada detailed review of the arrange-ments being put in place forconducting the grand annualfestival. He directed the con-cerned departments to work in awell coordinated manner tomake elaborate preparations

well in advance. He stressed onproper regulation of traffic, fool-proof security, adequatearrangements for health care,water and power supply in theentire town.

He further directed the localMunicipal Committee forensuring proper sanitation andcleanliness in the holy townbesides proper disposal ofgarbage. He also asked them tobeautify the city in collabora-tion with Shrine Board.

To give a face-lift to the holytown, the Div Com asked theMunicipal authorities to paintthe walls with scenic landscapesand images depicting the richfolk and cultural heritage of thestate and sceneries of magnifi-cent scenic tourist spots of thedivision.

The meeting was informedthat as an additional feature,the cultural programmes wouldalso be organized by JKACCLand Regional OutreachBureau, GoI.

participation of students duringfestival days to acquaint themwith rich culture of the state. Itwas further informed that theInternational WrestlingCompetition organized everyyear by J&K Indian StyleWrestling Association will wit-ness participation of wrestlersfrom within and outside thecountry. Besides this, HasayaVyang, Kavi Samellan and cul-tural programmes will beorganized by the concernedcommittees as per the tradition.

STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: To amelio-rate the medical problems ofpopulace in far flung andremote areas, a MedicalCamp was conducted atAshtanmarg village ofRamban District.

A team of army doctorsalong with nursing assis-tants conducted the camp.

In all, 223 patients, includ-ing men, women and chil-dren were provided medicaltreatment and check up bythe medical staff. Medicineswere also distributed to the

patients. The medical staff also pro-

vided counseling on hygieneand sanitation, importanceof safe drinking water andmodern day lifestyle relateddiseases. The medical campwas well received by the localpopulace.
