Hi Anne – In updating our Comprehensive Plan, we have revised our growth boundary. I’ve attached our draft map. We hope to have our updates done by the end of this year, and then the draft plan will go out for review and comment by MDP. We ended up taking a total of 116 acres out of our growth boundary from our 2010 plan, and most of it is on the south side of the town. Please let me know if you have any questions.
All the Best, Cindy

Cindy,
I relayed your positive comment about Flook to the County Planning Commission today and they
requested that I come back to them in a public meeting September 15th for clarification on this issue they brought up. Flook is completely within the Town’s ‘Conservation Boundary’. But also, a tiny finger of Flook is up in the Growth Boundary on the map. I drew a red circle around the tiny area below. It’s about 12-13 acres total :

I am writing to make sure you are aware that a small portion of the Flook farm extends into your Growth Boundary and that the Town is still okay with it being permanently preserved as farmland?
Thank you,

Hi Anne – The farmland preservation application from the Flook Family falls perfectly in line with the Town of Middletown’s conservation boundary. Please let me know what the outcome of the application is once completed.
Thanks! Cindy

Mayor Burgoyne,
A few years ago you sent me the attached letter in support of the preservation of the Grossnickle Farm. The Grossnickle have applied again this year for preservation and I am going to my Planning
Commission next Wednesday September 15th . I wanted to reach out to make sure you are still in support of the preservation of this farm.
Thank you,
Land Conservation and Historic Preservation go hand in hand
Burkittsville has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1975 because of its unchanged streetscape as well as the surrounding rural area which includes the Grossnickle farm.
The Grossnickle farm is part of a culturally rich and historically significant area. The Burkittsville community supports the preservation of the entire Grossnickle farm.
Sincerely,
