Making sure your children are safe at home, is just another responsibility of parents. Here are some

ideas of items to keep in your First Aid box at home, to keep those precious children

safe:

Gauze pads, tape, bandages (small and large), antiseptic wash, ice and hot packs,

tweezers, scissors, Calamine lotion, alcohol wipes, Ace bandage and emergency phone

numbers are some helpful items. Your child’s primary care doctor may recommend

other items for your child’s specific health needs, as well.

Legacy Families,

A new year has quickly begun and it is

time to start our monthly appreciation

gifts for the staff members. I am Jen

Ciurca, proud mommy to a 2nd grader at

Legacy. Last year I worked with P.A.L.S.

as the Staff Appreciation Coordinator.

My responsibility includes obtaining and

presenting a gift on behalf of P.A.L.S. to one staff member

each month. The lucky staff member is then featured in the

monthly P.A.L.S. newsletter. I am writing to ask for any gift

donations that your family or business would be willing to con-

tribute in the effort to recognize our

hardworking staff at Legacy. All donations are tax deductible.

Please contact me, Jen Ciurca, at 429-4285 or

[email protected] for more information. Also, please

remember our first PTO Meeting is September, 13th from

6:00-7:00pm!

Clubs

We had such a wonderful turn out at both of our PICCS evenings! Thank you Mustang families for you continued involvement

in our school! We are always amazed at the support from dedicated families, which make our campus an amazing school to be

apart of.

We look forward to all the fun, memorable things our clubs will be up to over the next number of months.

On September 10, all our 1st - 6th grade RISE students

began with pullouts during the day. The classroom

teacher will have the pullout schedule. There will be

questionnaires that the students will be taking home on

the first day of pullout for parents and students to fill out

together at home.

The JH RISE class is continuing on impressively! This

week we have already participated in critical thinking

activities such as building a bridge out of just 4 sheets of

copy paper that held over 250 pennies!

Sports

LTS’s fall sports teams continue to work hard to improve both their

academic and athletic prowess. The Football team defeated AMS

(Academy of Math and Science) last week by the score of 35-0, but had

a second game with them postponed due to inclement weather. The

LTS Girls Red and White Volleyball teams both split a pair of matches

winning one and loosing the other with Gila Bend Elem. School and the

Academy of Math and Science. The girls traveled up to Paradise on

Saturday but were a little bit overmatched loosing both games played.

This week the Football team travels to Casa Grande on both Tuesday

and again on Sat. morning for

a double header. The Volleyball teams are

playing @ home for both Wed & Sat Games

start at 4:30 PM on Wed and at 10:00 AM

Saturday morning. Come out and support

your favorite team…..Good luck Mustangs!

Art

More information will be heading way!

Field Trips

More information will be sent out once Field Trips have been established.

worked this grading period! This Friday will

mark the end of Grading Period 1 for the

2012-2013 school year. Report Cards will be sent

home on Wednesday, September 19th. Students

who earn A’s, B’s, O’s or S’s in all subject areas

(K-8th) and Homework (3rd-6th) will receive a

certificate for this special recognition.

Music

Book Fair!

NWT’s 2012-2013 Book Fair will be from

September 18-21st.

Each teacher and grade will have a specific

time and day to visit the Book Fair. Please

check with your child’s teacher for a specific

Book Fair time.

Attendance Calls

Our IT department is fervently working on

resorting our phone “bumps and bruises”

that we have had this school year.

To call in your child absence, when you

call in to 520-505-3640 and our automated

system picks up, dial “5100”. You will be

sent to Mrs. Wallentine’s Office. If she is

on the phone, you will automatically be

sent to voicemail.

We hope this helps ease the “bumps” you

have had with our attendance line.

RUNNING LATE?

If your child is not on time in the morning, you will need to come

into the Front Office and sign your child in, before they may head

to class. Thank you!!
