Can you guys believe that we are already preparing for the fall tractor show? Well, believe it or not, planning is in full swing for the Carl Springer Memorial Antique Tractor & Engine Show/Flea Market; or CSMAT&ES/FM for short. These shows have been the staple event of the campground for years, and are still the number one reason why the public comes to see us (even though LeVally is giving them some serious competition lately with his Golf Cart Rodeo.) For those of you who are interested in setting up a flea market spot, please be here on Sunday, September 13th at 4PM to secure your spot. Give it up for the Red, White & Blue!
Thanks to our good friend Ed Bruggeman, Old Glory is flying high at Poor Farmer’s Campground once again. Ed, myself and a few others are veterans of military service. If there is one thing that veterans are diehards about; it is that our flag be flown with grace and honor. Ed, you sir are a great representation of the grace and honor that now bestows the great symbol of freedom flying high above Poor Farmer’s Campground. Did you read that last sentence twice? I did. lol There will be an official dedication to our new flagpole during this year’s fall tractor show, September 19th, @ 8 AM. Be there to not only thank Ed for his hard work and dedication to the continued beauty of this campground, but also to give thanks to all of the active duty and veterans for their sacrifice and courage.
Ya Right! Once again, Poor Farmer’s RV was a lead sponsor for the entertainment at the Miami County Fair and with that comes the chance to meet the artist’(s) who are performing. This year it was Dallas Smith, the Canadian heart throb; and Clare Dunn, John’s heart throb. John has been spending fair week with Steve for many years now and has met many different celebrities; however, this is the first celebrity he has ever had a crush on. Thank you John for helping Dad out so much at the fair and as for Ms. Dunn, here’s her number… 1-800-YOU-WISH. HA HA

2015 Debby Mitchell Memorial Golf Cart Rodeo
The 2nd Annual Golf Cart Rodeo was a huge success! I won’t fill this space with silly nonsense because there are too many people to thank. So here goes; thank you to: Rick & Deb LeVally, Terry Mitchell & the gang at Mitchell Golf Cart & Equipment Co., Troy & Angie Scherer along with Team OddPower, the Poor Farmer’s Activity Committee; which includes: Denny & Jacque Shoenleben, Kenny & Alice Everett, Doug & Sue Pratt, Darren & Nikki Schimmoller, Ed & Char Bruggeman, Tony & Cherrie Dippolito, Sharon Frock (EMT), Vernon Collins & Mark Leistner (our photographers), Russ and Jacob LeVally, the crew at Poor Farmer’s RV, Judy Brown with Food To Go & Nanettes for providing us with some scrumptious treats, and of course, God for making sure the weather was befitting an event such as this. THANKS TO ALL!

Henry lost in the drag race, maybe due to added weight, but took home the big trophy with “Best in Show”!

Our very own Marty Reed brought his buggy to the party and left with an armful of trophies. Now he’s looking to redesign his Service Manager’s office to accommodate them all.

The 2015 Cornhole Championship Series Tournament is coming to an end. You only have two more chances to get your points in (September 12th @ 4PM & October 3rd @ 4PM.) 2015 Coachmen State Rally
Once again, the Coachmen State Rally was a huge success. Becky Brittingham put together a great time for all in attendance. We had campers from all over Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and even Illinois. I personally got to know some amazing people; like Joe Duggins. Joe came up from Kentucky for the weekend to spend time with us Buckeyes. I also got to see many old friends with the camping clubs from all over the state. Here are some pics from the State Rally Weekend:

Dan & Kim Keaton have more than earned Site of the Month. It should have probably went to them long ago, but look at the nitwit who is picking these sites. The Keatons have adorned their campsite with a beautiful array of flowers, fencing and an arbor. Even though their site is impressive
now, wait till October when they decorate for Halloween; Dan and Kim have been in the running for best decorated site for the past two years. This may be their year for that one too. Congratulations and thank you Dan and Kim for making your site one that I can use as an example of how to improve other campsites.
