Our Mission

International Students Demographics

The Office of Global Services ensures compliance with all immigration, visa, and mobility regulations for international students, faculty members, and researchers in the US, and all members of the University community going abroad for NYU study or work. We strive to create an innovative and empathic environment, providing the highest quality, personal-ized immigration, visa, and intercultural services and programs that respond to the needs of students, scholars, and their families, and promote cross-cultural understanding.

NYU is the #1 institution hosting international students in the US (we have 2,203 more international students than the #2 institution)

Student Spotlights

Andrea Ng Wen-Xin

Bachelor’s student in Economics and Psychology from Singapore

Andrea advocates for change

that will benefit international

students in her work with NYU

student government.

Marie Constantinesco

Tisch Film School MFA Graduate from France

Marie is the star and creator of

the award-winning web series,

My Life in Sourdough, that

chronicles the life of a young

French woman who foregoes

dating for a relationship with her

sourdough starter.

Sally Warring

PHD student in Biology from New Zealand Film

Sally traverses the city gather-ing samples from various ponds, analyzes them under her micro-scope and shares them with her 42,000 followers via her @pon-dlife_pondlife Instagram account. With help from the OGS, she was able to get employment authorization that uses her training in biology to create and sell her vast microbi-al images of NYC life at a whole new level.

An international student herself,

she focuses on addressing

problems international students

face across campus. Andrea

works closely with the OGS to

reach out and provide support

to international students across

campus and notes that the

resources the office provides

allow her to both gain access to

a larger amount of students and

fund activities that benefit

students' well being.

Each three to five minute

episode is paired with a recipe

that Marie herself prepares for

the camera. As an international

student, Marie found support

and collaboration in the interna-

tional student community. Since

graduating, she’s started work as

a commercial director at a

production company that

specializes in food and lifestyle

advertising, a position she

attributes to the success of her

online show.
