UWAA Strategic Outcomes: Join Give Volunteer Advocate Experience

UWAA Welcomes New Trustees | Five new trustees joined the UWAA Board on August 1 and will

provide leadership, direction, and expertise to the UWAA during their terms. They represent each of

the UW campuses and bring unique experiences and perspectives to the Board.

Huskies@Work | UWAA’s signature job-shadowing program returns for a virtual fall session to

connect alumni with current students to explore career fields and experiences.

Alaska Airlines Dawg Dash | The UWAA’s annual fun run is back in-person for Fall 2021. The run

supports student scholarships and all members of our community (dogs, included) are welcome to

participate.

Alumni Book Club | The Alumni Book Club is kicking off the 2021 – 22 year by reading “While Justice

Sleeps” by Stacey Abrams. Join us on Sept. 16 and Oct. 6 for two unique events around this read.

UWAA WELCOMES FIVE NEW TRUSTEES

On August 1, 2021, the UWAA Board of Trustees welcomed 4 new at-large trustees and 1 new regional

trustee to the Board. Representing all three campuses and a broad range of viewpoints, backgrounds, and

experiences, each of these leaders brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm to the Board.

CURRENT INITIATIVES AND DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT

Huskies@Work

UWAA’s signature job-shadowing program is back for Fall 2021. Scores of alumni and students will be

matched for online conversations to explore career options and experiences post-college. The alumni

application is open until October 17.

Alaska Airlines Dawg Dash Returns| Saturday, October 10

The UWAA’s signature fun run returns to the Seattle campus with a timed, in-person, 5K-only edition this

October! This back-to-campus event will feature the 5K run and a Post-Dash Bash where participants can

enjoy grab-and-go treats, fun photo ops, giveaways and more. Register here.

UW Alumni Book Club 2021 – 22

The Alumni Book Club is kicking off its third year by reading “While Justice Sleeps” by Stacey Abrams for the

Aug. 5 through Oct. 7 reading period. UWAA is partnering with UW Impact and UW School of Law to offer

unique events and discussions around this book.
