Sunday, September 20, in the Parlor following the 8:15 am & 9:45 am worship servicesStephen Ministry empowers and equips a team of lay-people to provide long term, one-to-one, Christ-centered, confidential care, to people experiencing grief, unem-ployment, hospitalization, loneliness, divorce, financial stress, terminal illness, and other life difficulties. To learn more about being a part of this caring ministry, come to an information session in the parlor after the 8:15 and 9:45 Sunday morning services.

Fall Session: September 24-November 12, Thursdays, 5:30-7 pm. Alive Hospice grief support groups meet for 8 weeks and are facilitated by Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Pre-registration by telephone is required by calling 615-963-4732.

• Pray daily for the refugees and those who are assisting them.• Give to UMCOR ‘s International Disaster Response, Advance #982450. 100% of your gift will help children and families, including Syria’s refugees, who are uprooted by disasters.• Give to the BUMC Refugee Crisis & Settlement Fund which will be used to fund organizations and ministries that help resettle refugees here in Greater Nashville.• Get involved in local refugee outreach opportunities by calling the BUMC Missions office.

After-school Program VolunteersIndividuals are needed to commit to volunteering one day a week with our elementary after-school program. You will work with a small group of students and help with homework, assist in imple-menting other educational activities and build relationships with students. Children’s Ministry but cannot serve on Sunday mornings, this may be the service opportunity for you! Adult leaders are needed to help facilitate fun activities and small groups on Sunday evenings with our 1st - 4th graders. Leaders can serve on a rotating basis at least once a month, or more!
