CELEBRATING RIGHT NOW

Sep 12 2016, 10:00 PM

Candace: I need to order more photos. That is what stops me from finishing more layouts.

JudiPartlo: Yes, Jennifer, I know my 4 letter type, but can't figure out those 2 letter ones - I

relate to several

Sep 12 2016, 10:00 PM

SusanneBrauer: I am stuck on finishing a couple of projects - pocket pages for a couple of

trips. There are just so many photos that I am finding it daunting.

Sep 12 2016, 10:00 PM

DottiePennington: yes, that is the name!! Thanks Kim

Sep 12 2016, 10:00 PM

Alissa Williams: Carrie - I've been working on finding homes for all my items - that is

something that stuck with me from the Spark Joy/Marie Kondo book

Sep 12 2016, 10:01 PM

JudiPartlo: That's great, Alissa!

Sep 12 2016, 10:01 PM

PatriciaMoore: Judi,I noticed that I am a mix of several also.

Sep 12 2016, 10:01 PM

SusanneBrauer: Yes, quite a bit of my little bottle of Gamsol had evaporated - but then it

was 10 years old!!

Sep 12 2016, 10:01 PM

JudiPartlo: That makes me feel better, Patricia!

Sep 12 2016, 10:01 PM

Alissa Williams: I find most of my clutter is because I can't identify a home for that item

Sep 12 2016, 10:01 PM

CarrieAnderson: that would be great alissa...i have to first clear enough stuff to make the

homes and then be disciplined enough to put it back when im done....oh...and quit buying

more hahahahaa

Sep 12 2016, 10:01 PM

KimEdsen: Susanne, can you use one of those photo flips to add more photos to your

pockets?

Sep 12 2016, 10:01 PM

JudiPartlo: Good suggestion, Kim!

Sep 12 2016, 10:02 PM

Jennifer: HAVING THE HOME CERTAINLY MAKES IT EASIER TO RETURN THINGS

THERE

Sep 12 2016, 10:02 PM

EdithBanks: I have not had energy to do anything in the evening- then I have so much to

do on the weekends

Sep 12 2016, 10:02 PM

DottiePennington: Right now, I have to say I don't have any real challenges or road

blocks.

Sep 12 2016, 10:02 PM

KimEdsen: It's kind of 'cheating'....but gets the job done!

Sep 12 2016, 10:02 PM

SusanneBrauer: Actually I think it is the embellishment pockets that are giving me pause. I

am using a lot of the photos and not leaving many slots for decoration and it looks too

picture heavy.

Sep 12 2016, 10:02 PM

KimEdsen: 'A place for everything and everything in its place'....now to only PUT things

back in their places!

EdithBanks: Carrie me too - watching too many haul videos

Sep 12 2016, 10:03 PM

KendraPeters: my HOMES aren't big enough. I bought a box from a site called REALLY

USEFUL BOXES (Yes....that's REALLY the name!. Box is super sturdy and hold 12 x 12

hanging files / paper. It's packed full.

Sep 12 2016, 10:03 PM

CarrieAnderson: kim...if only i could convince my brain to work like that!!! lol

Sep 12 2016, 10:03 PM

PatriciaMoore: I am struggling to find the right home for some of my stuff

Sep 12 2016, 10:03 PM

DottiePennington: Do you like all of the pictures on your LOs Susanne?

Sep 12 2016, 10:04 PM

Jennifer: LIKE WHAT PATRICIA?

Sep 12 2016, 10:04 PM

CarrieAnderson: edith...me too!!! argh...

Sep 12 2016, 10:04 PM

SusanneBrauer: Yes, Dottie. Although I could probably pluck one more photo off each

page and still have good coverage of what I want to remember.

Sep 12 2016, 10:05 PM

KimEdsen: I want to streamline my printing process....I've been all haphazard with different

approaches/photo developers the past few years...it'd be nice to find some consistency!

Sep 12 2016, 10:05 PM

Page 21: Sep 12 2016, 9:30 PM Test User #1: HELLO FRIENDS! · Sep 12 2016, 9:39 PM Alissa Williams: Carrie - I use it as my home/personal planner/bullet journal type book - I tried to use

DottiePennington: Then with the "new" rules, no embellishments would be your rule.

Sep 12 2016, 10:05 PM

PatriciaMoore: I have my paper divided up & some of the boxes are heavy. I want them

handy, but not enough low space. Closet smaller then last one

Sep 12 2016, 10:05 PM

TraceyFox: Ooh, I'm with you, Kim.

Sep 12 2016, 10:06 PM

SusanneBrauer: I am trying not to print any of my newer photos until I finish up these

projects - I would love to have nothing in process for just one day!!

Sep 12 2016, 10:06 PM

PatriciaMoore: My pipe dream Susanne

Sep 12 2016, 10:06 PM

DottiePennington: Is that even possible Susanne?

Sep 12 2016, 10:06 PM

SusanneBrauer: Yeah, we scrappers are big dreamers!

Sep 12 2016, 10:06 PM

TanyaNapier: I can't even imagine that Susanne!

Sep 12 2016, 10:06 PM

Jennifer: DO YOU NEED TO ELIMINATE SOME PAPER PATRICIA?

Sep 12 2016, 10:07 PM

PamelaMontagno: On my bucket list Susanne

Sep 12 2016, 10:07 PM

CarrieAnderson: kim me too! and i really want to streamline my upload and edit process as

well! I have lightroom but still to intimidated to learn it!

Page 22: Sep 12 2016, 9:30 PM Test User #1: HELLO FRIENDS! · Sep 12 2016, 9:39 PM Alissa Williams: Carrie - I use it as my home/personal planner/bullet journal type book - I tried to use

Sep 12 2016, 10:07 PM

PatriciaMoore: Maybe Jennifer, I have a give away box set up!

Sep 12 2016, 10:07 PM

Jennifer: WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL INTIMIDATED CARRIE?

Sep 12 2016, 10:07 PM

KendraPeters: I know i probably do. How about a Stash Bash Saturday and swap.......lol

Sep 12 2016, 10:07 PM

Jennifer: CAN YOU PRE-SHOP YOUR STASH FOR SMALL PAGE KITS, SO YOU DON'T

NEED TO DEAL WITH HEAVY BOXES ON THE FLY PATRICIA?

Sep 12 2016, 10:08 PM

CarrieAnderson: mostly all of the steps to take!! i get overwhelmed if something is more

than 3 steps long...lol

Sep 12 2016, 10:08 PM

SusanneBrauer: I just set up an easily accessible donate box in my scrap room to toss the

last sheet or two of paper into also.

Sep 12 2016, 10:08 PM

DottiePennington: I love having a giving away box. I have found it very freeing not keeping

something I know I won't use.

Sep 12 2016, 10:08 PM

TraceyFox: Starting a giveaway pile has improved things for me, too.

Sep 12 2016, 10:09 PM

SusanneBrauer: And having it accessible means that if I remember a week later I can still

rescue a piece of paper. Luckily I resist that impulse pretty well. So much paper, so little

time.

Page 23: Sep 12 2016, 9:30 PM Test User #1: HELLO FRIENDS! · Sep 12 2016, 9:39 PM Alissa Williams: Carrie - I use it as my home/personal planner/bullet journal type book - I tried to use

Sep 12 2016, 10:09 PM

PatriciaMoore: A kit would help. And I have a few set up, but its been hard for me to switch

to kits. A learning curve, I guess. But will keep at it. Thanks Jennifer

Sep 12 2016, 10:09 PM

PamelaMontagno: Good idea ladies I need to start a giveaway box

Sep 12 2016, 10:09 PM

KimEdsen: Where do you all giveaway your paper too? I have two littles, so they happily

get whatever I'm ready to part with.

Sep 12 2016, 10:09 PM

CarrieAnderson: susanne...i have to repeat the mantra...there will ALWAYS be new pretty

paper!!! I got it from Shimelle or Jennifer ...maybe both hahahaaa

Sep 12 2016, 10:10 PM

SusanneBrauer: Patricia, I have found that even just pulling 3 or 4 sheets of paper together

when I find them saves me a lot of time later. You don't always have to put embellishments

in a page kit.

Sep 12 2016, 10:10 PM

DottiePennington: I love my micro page kits, they have increased my productivity quite a

bit. I try to have about 20 micro kits ready most of the time. Once I get to about 10, I just

make more. Stories to scrap are endless.

Sep 12 2016, 10:10 PM

TraceyFox: Kim - there is a special needs art studio near my home, and I take my scrappy

donations there.

Sep 12 2016, 10:10 PM

Jennifer: THE MORE YOU PRACTICE CARRIE, THE LESS IT FEELS LIKE STEPS.. DO

YOU FOLLOW WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS TO PUT ON YOUR MAKEUP?

Page 24: Sep 12 2016, 9:30 PM Test User #1: HELLO FRIENDS! · Sep 12 2016, 9:39 PM Alissa Williams: Carrie - I use it as my home/personal planner/bullet journal type book - I tried to use

Sep 12 2016, 10:10 PM

PatriciaMoore: OH, maybe that's my problem. I only have 3-5 kits

Sep 12 2016, 10:11 PM

SusanneBrauer: Ooo, 20 is a lot. Do you start to worry you'll forget what you've set aside?

Sep 12 2016, 10:11 PM

Jennifer: I ACTUALLY RECOMMEND JUST 3-5 KIT AT A TIME... 20 WOULD BE TOO

MANY FOR ME, BUT DOTTIE IS INCREDIBLY PRODUCTIVE... SO IT'S MORE ABOUT

MATCHING YOUR SUPPLIES TO THE AMOUNT YOU'RE SCRAPPING

Sep 12 2016, 10:11 PM

KendraPeters: what are icrokits?

Sep 12 2016, 10:11 PM

EdithBanks: Dottie do you start with paper as your inspiration for your kit or something

else?

Sep 12 2016, 10:12 PM

KendraPeters: microkits/

Sep 12 2016, 10:12 PM

CarrieAnderson: that made me laugh jennifer...dont wear makeup but i DO get what

youre saying!! I think i just need a reference sheet of the steps to start and then i can make

it into a routine

Sep 12 2016, 10:12 PM

DottiePennington: My give away box goes to the all day crops and what is left goes to a

Women's Therapy Group that uses scrapbooking as part of the therapy.

Sep 12 2016, 10:13 PM

KimEdsen: Carrie, what do you use to edit your photos now?

Page 25: Sep 12 2016, 9:30 PM Test User #1: HELLO FRIENDS! · Sep 12 2016, 9:39 PM Alissa Williams: Carrie - I use it as my home/personal planner/bullet journal type book - I tried to use

Sep 12 2016, 10:13 PM

SusanneBrauer: You can start with paper or your photos for colors. I recently did a

checklist on my blog of things to consider putting in a kit. Just a mental checklist to make

sure I am adding variety.

Sep 12 2016, 10:13 PM

CarrieAnderson: picasa

Sep 12 2016, 10:13 PM

CarrieAnderson: susanne...would love to see that list...whats your blog?

Sep 12 2016, 10:13 PM

DottiePennington: Thanks Jennifer, I don't usually have a problem with what I have kitted.I

have several projects ongoing and many of the kits are for them. I am also trying harder to

include current stories too.

Sep 12 2016, 10:14 PM

KimEdsen: Can you make a list of what steps you take in Picasa and then just little by little

learn those steps in lightroom?

SharonWilcox: Thanks, Susanne!

Sep 12 2016, 10:15 PM

CarrieAnderson: kim...ooh i like that! i can use that! i think its just intimidating when i open

it and nothing is recognizable or intuitive...lol

Sep 12 2016, 10:15 PM

DottiePennington: My micro kits are usually for a 2 page LO and includes

paper,embellishments, and lettering.

Sep 12 2016, 10:15 PM

PamelaMontagno: Susanne like your blog

Sep 12 2016, 10:15 PM

SusanneBrauer: Thanks!

Sep 12 2016, 10:16 PM

KimEdsen: Adobe has videos on how to do a lot of stuff in LR - I will still watch them

sometimes if I'm not happy with something

Sep 12 2016, 10:16 PM

PatriciaMoore: just went there Susanne. Want to sign up

Sep 12 2016, 10:16 PM

Jennifer: WE TALK A LOT ABOUT MICRO KITS HERE BECAUSE IT IS HELPFUL TO

MAKE DECISIONS BEFORE YOU SIT DOWN TO CREATE...

Sep 12 2016, 10:16 PM

CarrieAnderson: oh ok! thanks Kim!

Sep 12 2016, 10:16 PM

DottiePennington: I don't usually journal at a crop. So, I use posted notes to remind myself

what I need to still do, like journal or maybe I didn't like a color choice

Sep 12 2016, 10:17 PM

SusanneBrauer: Oh yeah, post it notes are a croppers best friend.

Sep 12 2016, 10:17 PM

PamelaMontagno: Great idea Dottie

Sep 12 2016, 10:17 PM

TraceyFox: I have a crop coming up, and I'm thinking of typing the journaling on strips for

my pages in advance, because it drives me crazy not to finish a page. Anyone ever have

luck with this or other tips?

Sep 12 2016, 10:18 PM

Jennifer: OK, LET'S TURN TO INTENTIONS.. OUR NEXT REFRESH RETREAT WILL

START SEPT 27. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE BETWEEN NOW AND THEN?

Sep 12 2016, 10:18 PM

SusanneBrauer: Finish one of my pocket page projects - starting with plucking some

photos out of the pockets and getting some cards and embellishments going.

Sep 12 2016, 10:18 PM

CarrieAnderson: clear some floor space and organize my stamps

Sep 12 2016, 10:19 PM

PatriciaMoore: setting up my craft room would be gr8

DottiePennington: and to clean up after finishing a kit.

Sep 12 2016, 10:19 PM

KimEdsen: Tracey - that is how I almost always do it...I like to type my journaling and then I

have a general design in mind (I'll lay it out in Photoshop Elements, where I format my

journaling), print it out and off I go!

Sep 12 2016, 10:19 PM

KendraPeters: making some hard choices about my space - must purge some stuff I don't

use. Can therefore take advantage of focussing on Refresh.

Sep 12 2016, 10:19 PM

LauraKaplan: Make a page (I set the bar really low during the school year, lol!)

Sep 12 2016, 10:20 PM

Sep 12 2016, 10:20 PM
