서울교통공사는 지방공기업법 제49조에 의거하여 1981년 설립된 서울특별시
지하철공사, 1994년 설립된 서울특별시도시철도공사가 2017년 5월 하나의
이름으로 통합 출범한 기관입니다.
서울교통공사는 대한민국 수도 서울, 그 서울 교통의 중심이 되는 지하철
1~8호선의 건설 · 운영 및 부대사업을 담당하며, 도시 교통의 발전과 시민
복리 증진을 위해 노력하고 있습니다.
Seoul Metro was formed in May 2017 with the merger of Seoul
Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation established in 1994 and Seoul
Metropolitan Subway Corporation established in 1981 in accordance with
the Article 49 of the Local Public Enterprises Act.
Seoul Metro carries out construction and operation of subway lines no.1
to 8 and relevant businesses in Seoul, the capital of Korea.
It strives to develop the urban transportation system and to enhance
public interest.
