Description of Role
To lead on the planning, development, and implementation of the Sense National Events
programme with the primary focus of recruiting participants to Team Sense, maximising fundraising
income through developing the supporter journey and creating a supporter for life. You will also
deliver the team’s strategic development plans with support from the team and the Head of
Community and Events.
To lead on the identification of charity of the year opportunities, potential partnerships, third party
event contract and agency account management.
Specific responsibilitiesTo be responsible for the full implementation of events, supporter journey, marketing campaigns,
project planning, monitoring and evaluating, event development and event delivery.
Develop a supporter acquisition programmes that increase the volumes of supporters
participating in Sense challenge events.

Develop and implement supporter journeys for each event with a bespoke communications
plans for top fundraisers, high value supporters and corporate partners.
Manage the National Events budget ensuring income and expenditure budgets and
forecasts are achieved with any critical variances being highlighted
Produce regular reports on progress with delivery of key performance indicators for the
Head of Community and Events
Use insights and analysis, to make recommendations for investments to the Head of
Community and Events
Cultivate and manage strategic external relationships, negotiating best opportunity,
maximise return on investment and ensure long term relationships.
Ensure all suppliers engaged in the delivery of supporter acquisition and retention related
activities (e.g. fulfilment agencies) maintain agreed service levels, processing supporter
data accurately and efficiently
Work with staff in a range of teams across the organisation to develop strategic event
plans, marketing strategies and monitoring progress.
Work with the Head of Community and Events to develop and implement an engagement
programme to encourage supporters to support Sense in ways other than through event
participation.
Provide effective and motivating leadership and line management to the National Events
Team, ensuring staff have clear objectives and well-defined personal development plans
Collaborate with colleagues in other teams (e.g. in Communications, Policy, Trading or
Volunteers) to deliver supporter engagement activities
Be an expert in the external fundraising events environment and keep track of new trends
and events.
Ensure all National events activities are fully compliant with data protection and fundraising
regulations
There will be a requirement for travel and to work unsociable hours at events with
occasional overnight stays in the UK

Demonstrable appreciation of current trends within
UK fundraising including the Events environment

analysis and strategic planning; performance
indicator tracking; finance and budget
management
Ability to use Excel for advance levels of
data analysis
