A key component of the Brisbane City Council’s $10

billion TransApex infrastructure project, the $1.5 billion

Legacy Way tunnel will connect motorists to the Inner

City Bypass at Kelvin Grove, and provide express

access to the Brisbane Airport via the Airport Link.

With completion expected in 2015, the tunnel system

is expected to significantly reduce western suburbs

traffic through Toowong, and cut travel times from

Toowong to the Inner City Bypass and beyond.

Commuters will now enjoy improved access to

Brisbane’s major centres of employment including

Brisbane Airport, Port of Brisbane, and the CBD, as

well as faster connections to the Sunshine Coast and

Gold Coast (via the Clem7).
