Hello All,
Haven’t we had a wonderful summer! It’s hard to see the ads for school supplies
and not feel just a touch of sadness. Still, we have lots to look forward to this fall!
Over the summer, I was updating the Compendium of Policies and Procedures. In
order to ensure that we had it right, I read every one of the Board’s minutes since
2008. It was surprisingly enjoyable! It made me marvel yet again how hard all our
volunteer Board members work and how dedicated they are to providing a
wonderful experience for all of us. It also inspired me to see all the wonderful
things we’ve done over the years. When you have a minute, take a look at our
History of Courses Offered on the website.
Ideally, I would like to see Seniors’ Colleges throughout the Maritimes. If you have
a friend or family member in another community that you think would like to learn
more about the College and/or how to start one in their area, I’d be happy to help
with that. We couldn’t have started without the help of the PEI Seniors’ College
and I’ve love to pay it forward. I can go for a visit or I can be reached by phone
(506-536-7789) or email ([email protected]).
I look forward to seeing you in the classes in the fall!

Points to Note
We are always looking for ideas for courses, especially if you know someone who would be willing and able to
teach.
If you have a special interest, hobby or experience that you would like to share, we’d love to have you offer a course.
Please try to attend Registration in person. It is a great way to kick off the term and it’s fun to catch up with the peo-
ple you haven’t seen for awhile. It will, also, give you a chance to meet the instructors and get a sense of the course
content before you sign-up. If after you’ve signed up for a course you discover you cannot attend, please, contact
John, our friendly Coordinator, so that someone from the waiting list can be offered the course. Also, if you are go-
ing to miss a class, please, let either the instructor or the course liaison know.
Remember cell phones can be a terrible distraction in a class. Please mute your phones and if you get a call, please,
duck out of the class before you start to talk. If you are using your phone to take notes, please, tell the instructor so
they won’t feel you are ignoring them.
The last, really important note is HAVE FUN!
