Senior Skit Show!

There will be a Senior Skit Show after all, and it will be on Sunday,

April 22, 2012 at a tentative start time of 3 p.m. Right now, all you

need to do is get in touch with parents of kids in the activities in which

your child is involved and decide if you will put together a skit for the

show. You can let me or Cathy Mohney know if you will have a skit.

Skit/technology requirements and theme information will be coming

soon! If you have any questions or want to help on the committee, just

give me a call.

Our next committee meetings will be held on Tuesday, February 7 and Tuesday, March 6. All meet-ings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the BHS library. All are welcome. We will be hearing from committee chairs on their progress and discuss our financial status. If you have not paid your Senior Activity Fee, please contact Joe Nainiger to make arrangements.

After Prom is less than three and a half short months away! There’s a lot of fun and work ahead of us. Please attend the After Prom meetings which are held the second Wednesday of each month in the library at Bay High School (next meeting is Wednesday, February 15, 2012). There are lots of op-portunities for volunteers to help get this fun event organized and together for our Seniors, and it’s important for all the sub-committees to gather at this monthly meeting to keep abreast of all the work that is being done and learn of changes and updates.

All Committee Chairs – Mark Your Calendars! We will hold a transition meeting for the parents of the Junior class on Tuesday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the BHS Cafeteria. Each committee will give a brief explanation of the role of their committee and answer any questions from the Junior parents. We will have all the committee folders that we can transfer at that meeting (ONLY events that will occur after April 3 cannot be transitioned at this meeting). Please re-cap your event while it’s still fresh in your mind for the class of 2013 reps and return your folders and any other materials to Gayle Absi. The Junior parents will have the opportunity to sign up for their committees for next year. It’s important that we have them sign up for After Prom tear-down and baking for the 2012 Baccalaure-ate at this meeting.

Three things to know this month:

Please volunteer your talents with the After Prom committee and attend the monthly meetings.

Please provide a baby photo and wallet-size senior photo of your Senior to Marsha Irvine by March 15.

Please identify a Senior Parent representative for each sport, club or school activity to coordinate

that group of Senior Parents for the Senior Skit Show.

Thank you to everyone who has already paid the $75 Senior Activity Fee.

Right now, we have 133 paid out of 195, which means we still have:

62 unpaid Senior Activity Fees! This fee, in addition to funds raised from the 50/50 raffle at the Varsity football and basketball games,

Spaghetti Dinner, and magnet and sportswear sales, enables us to pay for numerous special events for

our graduating seniors. The Senior Skit Night, After Prom, Senior DVD, Baccalaureate, After Grad and

picture display are currently being planned for the Class of 2012. Since many of these events require a

deposit, your prompt payment of the Activity Fee is appreciated. Checks should be made payable to

Bay High Senior Parents and sent to Joe Nainiger @ 31017 Lake Rd. If you aren’t sure if you already

have sent your check or if you have any questions regarding the fee or any Senior Parent activity,

FIRST! That's right, you are invited to be a part of your child's very first graduation party honor-ing his or her accomplishment. BE A PART OF THE AFTER-GRAD PARTY! We need people in many capacities: event planners, bakers, chaperones and publicists. The location and theme are already set! Here's a hint—if you can believe it, we are actually encouraging

our grads to "pig-out and lei-around" right after graduation! Our first committee meeting will be Sunday, February 12 in the Bay Village Public Library (not the high school library) at 1 p.m. in the conference room. We know you are busy and understand you may not be able to attend, but are willing to help in some capacity. Is your son or daughter planning

to apply for a PTA Scholarship? To be eligible for a scholarship, the student or his/her parent must be

a member of Bay High PTSA. Please note that February is the last

month during which senior families will be able to join PTSA in order to

be eligible for a Bay PTA Council scholarship in 2012.

The student membership is $6 and an individual membership is $10.

Many families have both the parent and student join. Last spring, the

Bay PTA Council awarded $8,000 in scholarships to Bay High seniors

interested in pursuing a career that benefits children.
