SAN DIEGO, January 21, 2014 –David Alvarez joined Senator Barbara Boxer and Interim Mayor Todd Gloria to highlight his plans to partner with clean and green companies that create middle class jobs and protect the environment.

“As Mayor, I look forward to working with Senator Boxer to build on San Diego’s growing clean tech economy,” said Councilmember David Alvarez. “We can be the state and national leader when it comes to building an economy that addresses climate change and pays workers middle class wages.”

Alvarez also touched on his shared vision with Mayor Gloria, working together to find environmental and economic sustainability solutions. This was the first public appearance with Mayor Gloria and Alvarez since Gloria endorsed his campaign last week.

“As Interim Mayor Gloria outlined in his state of the city address, companies like Sullivan Solar are examples of companies that create good paying jobs and protect our environment. As Mayor, I will bring companies and labor together identify incentives and credits that we can use to attract more clean tech businesses to San Diego,” concluded Alvarez. ### David Alvarez, Councilmember for San Diego’s Eighth Council District is running for Mayor of San Diego.
