1. Electronics and Communication Engg. Department: Staff Study Circle Activity:

• Seminar on “How To Prepare Session Plan”

Mr.S.V.Joshi while explaining Session Plan

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering has organized an Expert Lecture on “How To Prepare Session Plan” on 17th Aug 2012 by Mr. S.V. Joshi(Lecturer, ET Dept) under staff study programme .He has explained how to identify General objectives, Specific objectives.He discussed about pre-requisite for teaching given topic, conclusion &

feedback for preparing session plan successfully. This information found to be very helpful to all staff members in preparing their Session Plan systematically.

2.Information and Technology Department:

• Expert Lecture on ‘Programming Logic and Web Blogging’

The Information Technology Department of K.K.Wagh Women’s Polytechnic, Nashik

had arranged an expert lecture on “Programming logic & Web Blogging” on 24th August

2012.The resource person for the seminar was Mr. Machindra Zankar from Eluminous

technologies, Nashik. He discussed on Basic concepts of Programming. He also gave some easy

tips for writing the programs in C & C++ languages and explained the students about what is

web blogging? How to create & use our own blogs? The students of second and third year

attended the seminar.

• Expert Lecture on ‘Rain Water Harvesting’

The Information Technology Department of K.K.Wagh Women’s Polytechnic,Nashik had

arranged an expert lecture on “Rain Water Harvesting” on 29th August 2012 in.The resource

persons for the seminar was Mr. Sanjay Tayade & Mr.Anup George from ‘Divine Green’

NGO.They discussed on various issues related to water. They also gave an overview of Rain

Water Harvesting Technique and discussed about the different ways of creating rain water

harvesting plants at home for saving water. The students of second and third year attended the

seminar.

• Workshop on ‘WordPress’.

A workshop on ‘WordPress- A website development tool’ was organized by the

Information Technology department under the staff development program. The workshop was

organized on 16th,17th and 21st August 2012. Mr.Ashish Tiwari from Astwz Technologies along

with his colleagues Mr.Abhijeet and Mr.Suyog. conducted the workshop. The session for first

day had an introduction to basics of HTML and PHP. Second day’s session focused on Jquery

and it’s use alongwith introduction to WordPress. Last day’s session focused on use of wordpress

and website hosting.

3. Computer Technology Department:

• A Seminar on “J-Query Introduction”:

An expert lecture on “Introduction to J-Query” was organized by the Computer

Department on 25th August 2012 for the students of third year and Second Year Computer

Technology. Mr. Jagtap Roshan P.from Procit India, Nasik guided on the J-Query a Web

Developing Tool. In her seminar she explained the various Selectors in Jquery, Different types

Attributes in J Query, various events of Jquery, Cascaded Styling Sheet used with Jquery etc. The

students get motivated by the guidance, as they are going to face Industries after their diploma

completion. They found the tips very useful.

Staff Study Circle Activities 1:

The staff of Computer Technology department used to undergo various activities under

Staff Study Circle. Which includes seminar presentation on various topics by staff member that

may be technical or non technical. Under Such activity the Head of CM Department Mr.Gaikwad

H.M. delivered the seminar on the topic “Latest top 10 programming languages”. The latest

programming language features was explained in the seminar. Those languages are as follows:

Go (Google), Dart (Google), Ceylon, Opa, Fantom, Zimbu, X10, Visual F# (Microsoft), HAXE,

Cray Chapel.

Staff Study Circle Activities 2:

The staff of Computer Technology department used to undergo various activities under Staff

Study Circle. Which includes seminar presentation on various topics by staff member that may

be technical or non technical. Under Such activity the Mrs. Jadhav A.J. Lecturer in CM

Department delivered a seminar on the topic “An Improved Approach for Biometric Template

Security”. The following points were covered in the seminar Problem Definition, Introduction to

Authentication System, Biometric System, Application, Attacks on biometrics, Issues, PCA

(Principle Component Analysis ),RP (Random Projection),Advantages/Disadvantages.

• Seminar on “Fiber Optic Cable”

Mrs. Sunita Ugale delivering a lecture on “Fiber Optic Cable”

An expert lecture on “Fiber Optic Cable” was organized by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering for third year students on 6th August 2012. Mrs. Sunita Ugale , Assistant Professor from K.K.Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research was the speaker. She explained the students about the Fiber Optic Communication, working of Fiber Optic Cable, Advantages and Disadvantages , Applications, Splicing, Losses in Fiber Optic Cable also various types of Fiber Optic Cable such as Single mode, Multimode , Step Index and Graded Index Cables etc . The seminar was very informative and proved very beneficial to students as they got the important information about the Fiber Optic Cables and their importance in our life.

• Seminar on “Rain Water Harvesting”

A seminar was organized by the department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering for Third year students on 23rd August 2012. Mr.Anup Kumar and Sanjay Tayde, from Devine Green Revolution gave the seminar on “Rain Water Harversting”. They explained various methods for conserving the Rain Water by storing it in Tanks, Reservoirs, Underground storage etc. They also showed various videos of actual implementation of such projects where rain water is collected and stored. Mr. Anup Kumar explained the importance and advantages of this scheme. The seminar was very beneficial to students as they got the information regarding the importance of conserving rain water and its advantages in future .

5.Science Department:

• Seminar on “Personality Development”

Mr. Rajesh Chavan, Resource person, delivering a seminar

‘Personality to person is what perfume to a flower’. To prove this quotation, it is important to understand the word ‘personality’ and the way through which we can grace our personality. By keeping this view, the seminar on ‘Personality Development’ was organized on 29th August 2012 for First Year students. The resource person was Mr. Rajesh Chavan, Founder Member of ‘Jivan Sanjivani Manav Sanshodhan Vikas Sanstha’, Wai, Dist. Satara. He has devoted his life for research work on the above title & conducted 5000 seminars & workshops in various states. In this seminar, he introduced the term ‘Personality’ to the students and told how to develop 12 qualities in our life. This seminar was in the form of interaction with the students. He gave message through this seminar that ‘the student must be ambitious & self confident. Their approach must be positive & self reliant.’ This program was followed by Personality Test. After that he provided the score list.

This program was guided by Mr. A.J. Savale, I/C Head, Science Department. Mrs. P.A. Gajarushi, Activity Coordinator and all the staff of Science Department worked hard to make it a success.

• Workshop on ‘Industry Institution Interaction’

A state level Workshop on ‘Industry Institution Interaction’ was attended by Mr. S.V. Joshi (Lecturer,ET Dept.) organized by Shrijan & College of Engineering Pune on 11/08/2012.The key contents of the workshop were to take suggestion from Industries,to give more concentration on basic sciences instead of Engg. and Technology,to give more emphasis on staff training, instead of student concentrate on staff,Industry is not getting proper inputs – suggestions from Institute,to display project ideas on company problems on internet,Development of laboratories in consultation with industries,to arrange more workshops which will give hands on experience to student.The workshop attended by Mr.S.V.Joshi was very helpful to all staff members to improve as he explained all the things very nicely.

2.Computer Technology Department:

• A Workshop on “Word Press”-Nasik

A three day workshop on “Word Press” part of website designing tools & Methods was

organized by IF Department & attained by CM Dept. Staff. The objective of the program was to

update the knowledge of webpage development which is required to teach the students of

computer technology. The resource persons for this program was called from the ASTIWZ

Infotech,Nashik. Mr. Ashish Tiwari is the director of this firm and his colleagues has taken this

workshop for CM & IF Dept .staff. The various topics covered was advance tools used for

webpage designing. The various topics covered in these three days are Basic HTML, JavaScript,

J-Query, Word Press-Website Design Tools, Website Designing Themes, Website Customization,

Menu Designing, Plugin. Adding Notes & Videos to the webpage.

3. Science Department:

• Mrs. Y.D. Jadhav & Ms. P.G. Shirsath attended ‘Orientation Program for ‘G’ scheme’ on 13th Aug. 2012 organized by MSBTE & K. K.Wagh Polytechnic, Nashik. The convener of this program was Prof. Mrs. Shubhangi C. Prabhune & Prof. Mr. A.R. Pawar, K. K. Wagh Poly., Nashik. The chief purpose behind this program was to understand & implement the concept of ‘New Curriculum of G

scheme’ for First Year Diploma Course. In second session, the discussion on conduction of Practicals along with the activities was done.

• Mr. M.D. Thorat & Ms. M.V. Patodkar attended ‘Orientation Program for ‘G’ scheme’ organized by MSBTE & K. K.Wagh Polytechnic, Nashik. It was conducted in presence of Prof. P.T. Kadave, Principal of K K Wagh Polytechnic, Nashik, Prof. Mrs. R.M. Gangarde, B.V. Polytechnic, Vasai (W),MSBTE Representative and Prof. G.B. Dabhade, K. K. Wagh Polytechnic, Nashik. The chief purpose behind this program was to understand & implement the concept of ‘New Curriculum of G scheme’ for First Year Diploma Course.

• Mr. A.J. Savale & Mrs. P. P. Wani attended ‘Orientation Program for ‘G’ scheme’ organized by MSBTE & K. K.Wagh Polytechnic, Nashik. It was conducted in presence of Dr. Mahashbde, MSBTE Representative; Prof. P.T. Kadave, Principal, K. K. Wagh Polytechnic, Nashik; Prof. Mr. Zade , Principal, K. K. Wagh Polytechnic, Chandori. In the first session, Prof. Mr. Kadave provided preamble. Dr. R.S. Mahashabde, Education Technology Consultant, discussed the various topics such as Approach to Curriculum Design, Curriculum Philosophy, System Approach, Link Diagram, Generic Diagram, Levels of Learning, and Components of Curriculum. The second session was conducted by Mr. Y.V. Kshirsagar, Lecturer in English, K. K. Wagh Women’s Poly. Nashik; Prof. Mr. Pathak, Government Polytechnic, Jalana. The discussion over Theory syllabus, Practicals was done. Afterward, the detail group discussion on every practical was done to conduct it more effectively.

• Mrs. D. S. Chaudhari & Ms. V.B. Pagar attended ‘Orientation Program for ‘G’ scheme’ organized by MSBTE & K. K.Wagh Polytechnic, Nashik. The convenor if this program was Prof. Mrs. Mayuri Salavi, Government Poly., Jalgaon & Prof. Mr. Y.P.Mahajan, K.K.Wagh Poly., Nashik. The chief purpose behind this program was to understand & implement the concept of ‘New Curriculum of G scheme’ for First Year Diploma Course. Discussion on theory topics & tutorials was done.

Participants of Poster Competition

Poster Competition is one of the ways for giving expression to creativity. By keeping this view, Poster Competition was

held on 28th

August 2012. It was jointly

organized by Science Department & ISTE Student Chapter. Many students participated in this competition and exhibited their skills. Miss. Preeti Naik (FYIF) got First Prize for Poster on ‘Global Warming and We’; Miss. Snehal Kapse (TYCM) got Second Prize for ‘Save Baby Girl’ and Miss. Nikita Nikhade (SYEJ) & Miss. Isha Patil (SYEJ) got Consolation Prizes for ‘Global Warming and We’.

This competition was guided by Mr. A.J. Savale, I/C Head, Science Department. Mrs. P.A. Gajarushi, Activity Coordinator & Inst. ISTE Coordinator, ISTE Student Chapter members and all the staff of Science department worked hard for its success.

Industrial Visits Organized by Departments:

1.Electronics and Communication Engg. Department:• Visit to Kreepa Steel Industries,Satpur,Nasik

The Electronics and Communication Engg.Department had arranged an industrial visit of TYET (45 Students) to Kreepa Steel Industries,Meter / Electronics Div.MIDC, Satpur,Nashik-7 on 31st August 2012.The company is manufactures High voltage (KVA rating ) Electrical panels, Electronics meters, and UPS. Mr. Vijay Bhonsale (Manager) explaining the working and application of Electrical panels.The visit was very successful and it helped all the students in boosting their knowledge.

2. Information and Technology Department:

• Industrial Visit to ‘MERI’

The Information Technology Department of K.K.Wagh Women’s Polytechnic, Nashik had

arranged an industrial visit to Remote sensing department & Seismic data division of

Maharashtra Engineering Research Institute (MERI) on 21st August 2012.Mr.S.G.Wagh

(Assistant Engineer Gr-II explained what is meant by remote sensing as well as various concepts

regarding remote sensing .He explained the use of remote sensing satellites by “ISRO” for

capturing images of earth for different purposes like for calculating forest area , industrial area

,water storage , pollution etc.using remote sensing. He also gave information about the two types

of remote sensing , ‘passive remote sensing’ and ‘active remote sensing’. He also explained how

the images are interpreted and analyzed by providing different signatures to computer (assigning

different color shades to recognize water, forest etc).He also discussed about the various

applications of remote sensing and explained the “ERDAS IMAGINE 2010”software used for

remote sensing. Another department was the seismic data division where the students were given

an introduction of how to measure the frequency of earthquake on Richter scale from various

places.

3.Computer Technology Department:

Industrial Visit to ‘MERI’

For the final year students, the industrial visit to MERI, Nashik was arranged by

Computer Technology department on 28th August 2012.The visit was given to Remote Sensing

Laboratory and Geographical model of Maharashtra state. Mr.S.S.Pande, & Mrs.P.B.Mandalkar,

Scientific Officer, Remote Sensing and Geo-informatics Division, MERI, explained about how

satellite is remotely sensing the crops on earth, various color bands, FCC image of satellite,

analyzing FCC image for sugarcane crops density near Gangapur Dam and use of ERDAS-NET

Image 2010 software for analyzing the satellite image. Remote sensing technology is used for

finding the availability of crops , its density and its use to increase the revenue of Govt. By using

Geo-referencing and contouring, Geographical model of Maharashtra state was prepared.

• Visit to Motwani Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., Nashik.

Third Year Students at Motwani Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. A study visit was organized by the department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering for Third Year students at Motwani Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., Nashik on 07th and 8th

August 2012. Mr. Mangesh Bhange gave the short seminar. He explained some important things about the company, its products, company history etc. . He gave information about the manufacturing procedure of different devices such as Multimeter, Insulation Tester, Earth and

soil Resistivity Tester etc. . Students saw various processes like formation of the outer case of Multimeter, PCB Manufacturing, Component Mounting etc. Engineers in various sections explained the flow of process from Designing upto Packaging of the product. This visit proved very beneficial to students as they got the overall idea about the manufacturing process of different devices .

• Visit to Bhikusa Paper Mill, Nashik

A study visit was organized by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering for Third year students at the Bhikusa Paper Mill, Nashik on 28th August 2012. Mr. Ghorpade showed the Paper Making process to students. He Explained that initially the raw material is fed to Feeder then Crusher converts it into Pulp form. After that water and impurities are removed from the Pulp and it is placed over the Conveyer. This Pulp is then pressed between huge revolving Slabs and finally this dried Paper is wound over large Reels. The visit proved very informative to students.

• First Parent-Teacher Meet:

A Parent Teacher Meet for Second and Third year students was held by Electronics and Communication Engineering Dept. on 4th Aug 201 in Vishvakarma Hall.The Co-ordinators for the Parent Teacher Meet were Mr. S.V. Joshi(Lecturer) and Mr. B.N. Gajare(Lecturer).First of all ET Dept. welcomed all the parents present. Mrs.S.S.Chandgude(HOD,ET) interacted with all parents and taken suggestions from Parents.After that brief introduction of Department was given by HOD.Finally question – answer session was there and feedback has taken from parents.

• Second Parent-Teacher Meet:

A Parent Teacher Meet for Second and Third year students was held by Electronics and Communication Engineering Dept. on 26th Aug 2012. The Co-ordinator for the Parent Teacher Meet was Mr. S.V. Joshi(Lecturer,ET). The purpose behind the conduction of this meet was to interact with the parents regarding their wards and performances.The meet addressed by the Principal. The programme was moving on with an introduction ofHOD, Staff members with parents. All staff Interacted with parents and taken suggestions from Parents. Positive & negative points of students have been discussed and feedbacks were taken from parents. A Parent Teacher Meet is very necessary for students from their development point of view.

2.Electronics and Telecommunication Department.

The Parent-Teacher Meet was organized by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering on 26th August 2012. It was conducted successfully in the presence of Principal , HOD, Staff and Parents. The meet was organized for interaction with parents and discussion on the performance of students, their attendance, expectations from teachers and parents, student’s difficulties and solution over them. A discussion on academic results of summer 2012 and the first class test was carried out during which meritorious students were appreciated. After this interaction session was started during which parents shared their problems and teachers answered their queries. Lastly parents expressed their satisfaction regarding the meet. After this function departmental visit was arranged during which parents and students interacted with an individual staff member regarding performance in class test and attendance. All staff members worked to make this meet successful.

Welcome Function for the First Year Students of Information Technology Department.

A welcome function for the First Year students was organized by the Information Technology on31st August 2012.

The function was inaugurated by Vice Principal Prof.V.S.Tarle. Prof.N.R.Patil (Head, Information Technology

department) welcomed the students and introduced them to the department, the students association, its working

culture and the various activities that are conducted by the department. This was followed by the performances from

second and third year students. The students were gifted with small token of love.

As per the MOU , Industries have granted permission for Industrial Visit of the students and the staff , Industrial Training of students, Expert Lectures and Industrial Projects of Final year students. It was also decided that college will provide Library Facility to company staff and will help companies in arranging the Campus Interviews
