We hope that our varied programme offers something for everyone and that we will have the pleasure of meeting many of you during the course of the year. Here you will also find photographs from previous occasions, and podcasts from recent lectures and talks. You can also book events by telephoning the Alumni Office on (01223) 767844. Alumni Privileges Remember too, that as well as the official College events, you are welcome to dine and stay in College. Members with MAs or other masters or higher degrees are entitled to dine at High Table on three evenings per academic year on Tuesdays or Thursdays, providing there are at least six current Fellows present. Those who completed a qualification such as the CASM or Part III Mathematics while at Selwyn are also eligible for these dining rights. Members may bring a guest at their own expense. Please note that this arrangement is not suitable for large group bookings. Selwyn College Music SocietySundays, 8.30pmThe Society presents a regular programme of recitals in Hall during term time.

Thursday 21 June, 2.00pm, May Week ConcertThe College Orchestra will be playing a varied programme, followed by wine and strawberries in the Chapel garden.

Cambridge Handel Opera GroupFriday 27 April, 7.30pm, West Road Concert HallConcert to mark the retirement of Dr Andrew Jones from his University Senior Lectureship. Vocal and instrumental music by Handel. Soprano soloist: Sarah Power. Cambridge University Collegium Musicum directed from the violin by Margaret Faultless.

1882 Society LuncheonAll members of the 1882 Society and their guests are invited to a luncheon at Selwyn.

Saturday 10 March

Alumni Sports DayCome back to College for a chance to play netball, football, rugby and hockey with current student teams, or get on the river with the Boat Club.

A hog roast and bar will complete the day. Cost £25.

Saturday 17 March

Alumni ForumAll Year Group Representatives and Association Committee members are invited to meet, discuss and help shape Selwyn’s future alumni relations programme. Dinner to follow.

Friday 23 March

Reception, Hong KongFor all those living in or travelling to Hong Kong, a reception to mark the visit of the Master. Generously hosted by Sir David Li OBE (SE 1961) at the Bank of East Asia.

Saturday 14 April

1962 and 1972 ReunionsFor all those celebrating 50 and 40 years since matriculation, a formal dinner in Hall and other events over the weekend. Guests welcome. Accommodation will be available in College.

Saturday 28 April

Law Society DinnerAll who studied Law at Selwyn are invited back for dinner.

Sunday 13 May

Friends of the Choir EvensongEvensong and supper open to all Friends of the Choir and their guests.

Saturday 2 June

Lyttleton DinnerA formal dinner to thank the College’s most generous benefactors (those who have given £10,000 or more excluding Gift Aid). By invitation only.

Saturday 16 June

Visit to Monkey World, DorsetFind out about the work of Dr Alison Cronin (SE 1986) at her Ape Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre near Wareham. Morning pastries, buffet lunch and afternoon tea will be served. All alumni, friends and family are welcome.

Cost £18 per person (includes admission and all meals).

Selwyn London Group Summer PartyThe London Group will be hosting a drinks and canapés reception. Guests welcome.

Friday 6 July

Commemoration of BenefactorsAll those who matriculated in 1967, 1977, 1987, 1997 or who came up prior to and including 1960 will be invited to Evensong, followed by a black tie dinner. Accommodation will be available in College.

By invitation only. Booking forms and further information to follow.

Saturday 7 July

Donors’ Garden PartyA garden party, open to those who have made a recent donation (in the last three years) and members of the 1882 Society, will be held in the College grounds. Traditional English afternoon tea will be provided, as will an array of entertainments suitable for children. By invitation only.

Saturday 8 September

1982 and 1992 ReunionsFor all those celebrating 30 and 20 years since matriculation, a formal dinner in Hall and other events over the weekend. Guests welcome. Accommodation will be available in College. Booking forms and further information will be sent in June.

Saturday 22 September

Selwyn Association Annual General Meeting and DinnerAll alumni and guests are welcome. Those who came up in 2002 are particularly encouraged to attend to celebrate 10 years since matriculation. Accommodation will be available in Selwyn. Booking forms will be sent in June.

Friday 12 October

Alumni dinner, EdinburghA dinner for alumni and guests to be held at the New Club, overlooking Princes Street Gardens and Castle. Cost around £45 per head.

Tuesday 16 October

Pub night, LondonPitcher and Piano, Old Holborn

Relaxed and informal gathering for those living and working in London. Food available to purchase. Meet 6.30pm onwards.

Selwyn London Group Annual LectureThe London Group will be hosting drinks followed by a lecture. Guests welcome.

December (tbc)

Christmas Carol Service, LondonSelwyn College Choir and the Dean of Chapel will lead a traditional carol service followed by mulled wine and mince pies. Families welcome.

Varsity Match, TwickenhamLunch at the Marriott Hotel followed by the match. Guests welcome.

Visit to Gladstone’s Library, North WalesGuided tour and lunch at St Deiniol’s, home to Gladstone’s own collection of over 32,000 items and recognised as the second most important research library in Wales.
