FEATURES • SAFETY Approved by the internationally recognized testing authorities of TÜV to the German standards,

the DIN 15560 part 46 standards, and by the U.L. Laboratories standards. These Standards are directly associated with safety of suspensions systems mounted above an assembly of people. The safety features incorporated into the De Sisti Self -Climbing Hoist include, a dynamic self sustaining worm-geared set motor, with a screw helix angle less than 4 degrees to prevent back winding, two safety micro switches one for the top limit plus an extra emergency safety switch and one for the bottom limit plus an extra emergency safety switch and over load and slack line detection on each wire rope.

• INCREASED EFFICIENCY / LOWER OPERATING COSTS The Self -Climbing hoist is ideal for the raising and lowering of lighting instruments along with their associated circuits and dimmers. The ability to lower the lighting batten to any positions within the set area, increases the efficiency of the studio operations by allowing easy access to the lighting instruments for aiming, focusing and the handling of the lighting fixtures, This product can be either installed in permanent fixed positions directly to the I-beam sub-structure of the building, or to any supporting grid. The Self Climbing Hoist has an added feature as illustrated above. The picture shows the trackable hoist, which allows for the ability to move the hoist along rails, to be positioned in the precise location where the circuits and lights are needed. The hoist can also be angled up to 25° to conform to the angle of the set.

• MECHANICAL A special frame maintains a clear separation between the moving parts (mechanical elements in motion), like steel ropes, winding discs, diverter pulleys, load sensor mechanisms) and the electrical components (electrical wiring, motor switch-gears, safety micro switches, electrical and data sockets, travel limit device). The separation of these elements allows maintenance procedures to be performed safely and the electrical components maintained in a clean environment. • Up /Down Push Button Control either PBS (Push Button Station) or HMC (Hoist Manual Control with

optional remote control). • DMX Up / Down Control as well as Positioning Control. • HDC System (Hoist Digital Control) with manual back up DMX Input. • ICARUS Control System for (Memory Control of hoists and automated lighting)

• OPERATIONAL The Self-Climbing Hoist is capable of lifting a (SWL) safe working load of 309-lbs/140 kg, plus the self-weight of the hoist, which is based on the travel distance and the optional features incorporated into the hoist. The maximum travel distance is 35 feet /10.5 meters.

• OPTIONAL FEATURES The De Sisti Self-Climbing Hoists offer several unique optional features: 1. A provision to enable the hoist to be raised or lowered with a cranking tool in case of a hoist

failure. 2. Positioning Control memorizes and recalls the position of each hoist and record that position into a

preset. 3. DMX Up/Down and Positioning Control via any standard DMX controlled lighting system. 4. Silent Dimmers mounted in the hoists as part of the hoist system 5. Tracking feature moves the circuits to the action. 6. Hoists can be angled plus or minus 25° degrees from the horizontal to conform to the angles of the

set pieces.

SPECIFICATIONS

The De Sisti Self-Climbing Hoist shall be a completely self-contained enclosure housing a drive unit of monoblock design. The assemble shall house a 1,1kw 3-phase motor integrated with a dynamic self sustaining worm-geared set with a screw helix angle less than 4 degrees to prevent back winding. (Systems needing break motors to obtain a dynamic stop or systems with only static self sustaining gear motors will not be accepted). The motor shall be equipped with a buil t- in thermal protect ion device, designed to stop the electrical supply to the motor in case of excessive heat. The device shall automatically reset when the motor temperature decreases and allow the unit to return to normal operation. Incorporated into the hoist system shall be cut out safety micro switches (double activated SPRING –LEVER) for each cable l ine for slack line and over load detection, plus travel limit switches, one for the top limit plus extra safety stop switch and one bottom limit switch and plus extra safety stop switch

The hoist frame shall be a folded steel housing (10 feet long) and designed in such a way as to separate al l moving parts from the electrical components and power elements. The unit shall house along with the motor, all outlets, circuit wiring, audio video outlets, DMX outlets or three phase outlets as specified. A load terminal box attached to a mounting rail shall be wired to the hoist via flip-flop trays or flat cable management system, which carry the load circuits to the hoist. It will also support at the bottom a 1.9 inch O.D. Pipe or Rail system for the mounting the lighting instruments. The housing shall also incorporate transparent inspection panels in order to visually inspect al l relevant safety parts, including load sensing, lift cable discs and lift cable terminations. The average lifting speed shall be 25 feet per minute. The SWL (self working load) shall be 309lbs/140kg with a maximum travel of 35 feet. Each of the four steel lifting cables shall be 4mm in diameter, constructed in (7 groups x 19 wires) , with a braking force on each wire rope of at least 1,200 kg / 2,400 lbs. The entire device shall be DIN approved under section #15560 Part 46, (Worldwide Safety Standard for overhead devices) be TÜV cert i f ied and carry the U.L. label approved as a complete system. Hoists with U.L. approved components but not tested and approved as a complete system will not be accepted

There are several Control Options offered by De Sis t i Rigging and Automation • Up /Down Push Button Control with (optional) remote control • DMX Up / Down Control as well as the Positioning Control • HRC System (hoist remote control) with manual back up. • ICARUS Control System (memory control for hoists and automated lighting).
