Executive Summary
Govt. Ramanand Sanskrit college is a prime educational centre of the
Bhopal region for education in Ancient Sanskrit. It was established in 1986. The
institution started as a primary Sanskrit school in 1962 on the land donated by
the Mahantshri Shri Narharidas ji of Gufa Mandir Asharam, Lalghati in 1962. It
was given the status of middle school in 1972 and higher secondary school in
1979. The deptt. of higher education, M.P. Govt. upgraded the school as a
government college for imparting Sanskrit education on 12th
March 1986.The
college was once affiliated to Sampoornanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalay, Varanasi
and then to Awadeshpratap university, Rewa. At Present the college is affiliated
to Maharshi Panini vedic Vishwavidyalaya, Ujjain for the classes Shastri ¼B.A½ and
Acharya ¼M.A½. It is affiliated to Patanjali Sanskirt Sansthan, Bhopal for the
classes prathama ¼8th ½] poorva madhyama ¼9th
and 10th

and 12th
½.
The college has a campus of 0.10 decimal and has 4 U.G and 1 P.G
department. We firmly believe that education is the best way to remove
poverty, un-employment and to develop the all round personality of the
student. The college has a staff of 16 extremely qualified teachers and two
teachers ¼One for Sanskrit and other for Jyotish½ as our guest faculty. We have 4
office staff and 4 supportive staff in our college.
The college began with only Arts Faculty- Ancient Sanskrit faculty in
1986, but soon established sociology, Hindi and English department. We have 66

Students in college education and 153 at school level. It imparts Courses in
prachya Sanskrit ¼ancient Sanskrit ½ only and the medium of instruction is also
Sanskrit. The courses includes sahitya, Vyakaran and Jyotish in Sanskrit and the
course curriculum is decided by Maharshi Panini Vedic Vishwavidyalay, Ujjain for
college level and Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan for school level. The college follows
the semester system for examination at college level for both graduate and
undergraduate level. The college has 13 classroom , an NSS room, Patanjali
Prakostha, staff room, research room, library, office and Principal’s chamber.
The admission to various courses are given according to the state government
rules.
The teachers of the college are activity engaged in research work.
We have 2 research guides. The college sends articles and research papers
written by the teachers to the lead college of the zone to be published in the
journal. Last year the college prepared ‘Vision 2025’ for developing educational
and other facilities in the college. Guest faculty teachers are appointed every
year on the vacant posts in the college to teach the student. DCF form is
uploaded on AISHE portal every year. Scholarship is given to the needy student
according to the norms of state government. Biometric attendance machine is
installed in the college to ensure the attendance of staff members At present
the college is affiliated and acknowledge under section 2f and 12 B of U.G.C. The
main financial resources of the institution are from state govt and we receive
grants from UGC and a small amount from Janbhagidari samiti fund as our
student belong to poorer and weaker sections of society.

Aims & Objective :-
1. Ramanand Sanskrit college was established with the objective to save enrich
and preserve Sanskrit language Indian culture and ancient traditional system
of teaching.
2. To provide facilities, to achieve excellence in Higher Education to talented
students of the state.
3. To bring about qualitative up gradation and to equip the students to face the
economic and Culture challenges.
4. To enhance the spirit of nationality, national integrity and inculcate high
moral values.
5. To direct adults to productive work culture.
6. To develop social concern and civil responsibilities among the upcoming
talented youth.
7. To provide guidance for national exams and ensure all-round personality
development.
8. To provide career guidance, promote computer skills, communicative skills,
extempore presentation and inculcate reading habits.

SWOC Analysis
Strength :-
1. Faculty members are highly qualified sincere and experienced. We have 12 teachers
Ph.D holder and one professor with 34 years of teaching experience is D.Litt.
2. College teachers are contently engaged in research work, publication of magazines ,
articles and news letter.
Weakness :-
1. The college does not have sanctioned post of sports teacher, book lifter, lab-
technician and computer operator.
2. It does not have its own building.
3. The college is run on a small piece of land ¼10 decimal ½ donated by the Mahantshri
of Gufa Mandir, Bhopal. It has no land of its own other than this.
4. There is always a scarcity of fund.
5. The college has a poor infrastructure.
6. The college is not a research center either.

Opportunities:-
1. Talented student need to be motivated and inspired to pursue higher education.
2. Awareness program needs to be launched regarding environmental hazard.
3. Access to internet and Wi-Fi to all departments.
Challenges :-
1. Infrastructure is limited.
2. Due to shortage of funds many programs cannot be conducted.
3. To carry on quality research due to shortage of funds.
4. Irregular exam pattern and late declaration of result hampers the progress of
students.

1.1.1-Curricular Design, Planning and implementation Development:-
Being an affiliated College to Maharishi Panini Sanskrit and Vaidik University
Ujjain and regulatory board – Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthanam, the
institution follows the curricular designed by these two.
• Two faculty members are members of BOS.
• For NSS activities the college is affiliated to Barkatullah University.

2.2.2- Catering to students diversity:–
Students from economically weaker sections are drawn to the institution.
2.2.3- Teaching Learning:-
Academic calendar of the department of higher education is followed.
Monthly planners, Registers and teaching dairies are maintained by the faculty.
Computer oriented CCE and Projects with various modes like poster, Group
discussion, objective questions etc.
2.2.4- Teaching Quality:–
Faculty members are highly qualified the college reqwises more posts/faculty
members in English, Hindi, Ved and Jyotish, Sanskrit, Sahitya & Sanskrit Vyakaran
and Sociology.
Teachers are encouraged to attend seminars, conferences, workshop,
orientation and refresher courses.
2.2.5- Evaluation Process and Reforms:–
Evaluation Process adopted is as per the norms of Maharshi Panini Vaidik
University, Ujjain and Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthanam, Bhopal.
Grievances of students regarding internal assessment are head and resolved.
2.2.6-Student Performance and Learning out comes memory power concentration level
and grasping power of the students are enhanced.

2.3 - Research Consultancy and Extension Promotion of Research:–
The college is not a recognized research center. Faculty members are engaged
in publication of their research work and have authored a numbers of books.
2.3.2- Resource Mobilization for Research:–
College budget does not provide funds for research work . No grants from any
funding agency.
2.3.3- Research Facilities:–
90% staff are Ph.D. holders.
There are 2 research guides.
2.3.4- Research Publication and Awards:–
Faculty members have received awards like Kalidas and Bhavbhuti Awards as well
as Sanskrit Bhushan
One book awarded Presidents Award. 17 books have been authored by faculty
members.

The college does not have any consultancy services.
2.3.6- Extension Activities and Institutional Social Responsibility:–
Students and faculty members serve the society through ‘Karma Kand’, ‘Jyotish’
and ‘Ved Path’ which are essential components of the life of Indian society

‘Dharmagurus’ in Military services.

2.4.2- Library as a learning Resource:–
The college has a library with 6970 books two journals and 04 magazines. It has
computers with broadband facility. The Library is not automated.

The College has a computer lab with 5 computers. The college does not have a
website of its own. There are no ICT enabled classrooms.

The faculty members are available all the time for teaching and other guidance.
Teacher student ratio is 1:12. No tuition fee is charged.

Student Progression is consistent. There is almost negligible drop out.

Haridwar and Allahabad Kumbh.

Innovation By faculty members who are members of Sanskrit Board Regarding
syllabus is done. Participation of students is there in all religious activities of the
society. Text books are written by faculty members.

It is a unique center for learning of Prachya Sanskrit.
Institutional building- The College doesn’t have its own building. It is run on a
small piece of land donated by the Mahantji of Gufa Mandir. The college doesn’t
have a sports ground. There is acute shortage of space for any activities or
infrastructure. There is acute shortage of funds. Infrastructure is inadequate. No
ICT facilities, No canteen or hostel is available.
