will enable you to track, with self-awareness,

the skills you are developing throughout your career.



SELF ANALYSIS

You are most likely to

succeed in life if you

use your talents to their

f ullest extent. Similarly,you'll suffer fewer

pr oblems if you know

what your weaknesses

are, and if you manage

these weaknesses so

that they don't matter inthe work you do.







SELF ANALYSIS THROUGHSWOT ANALYSIS

SWOT stands for strengths, weaknesses,

opportunities and threats.

Strengths and weaknesses areinternal factors.

Opportunities and threats

are external factors.



What makes SWOT especially powerf ul is that,

with a little thought, it can help you uncover

opportunities that you would not otherwisehave spotted. And by understanding your

weaknesses, you can manage and eliminate

threats that might otherwise hurt your ability

to move f orward.



If you look at yourself using the SWOT

fr amework, you can start to separ ate yourself

fr om your peers, and f urther develop thespecialized talents and abilities you need to

advance your career.

A Personal SWOT- Example

STREGTHS

I'm very creative. I impress my students with a

new angle on their attitudes

I communicate well with my superior,collegues

and students.

I'm completely committed to the success of a

students' and school growth and development.

WEAKNESSES

I have a strong, compulsive need to do things

quickly and remove them from my "to do" list,

and sometimes the quality of my work suffers

as a result.

This same need to get things done also causes

me stress when I have too many tasks.

I get nervous when presenting ideas , and this

fear of public speaking often takes the passion

out of my presentations.

OPPORTUNITIES

I'm going to attend a conference next month.

This will help me in developing my knowledge

and skills.

My principal asked me to organize a national

level seminar. I think it would be a great

opportunity to show my talent.

THREATS

Due to recent staff shortages, I'm often

overworked, and this negatively impacts my

creativity.
