Plug-In Recloser Control Compatibility The SEL-351R Falcon Recloser Control is a plug-compatible replacement for Cooper Kyle® Form 3, 3A, 4, 4A, 4C, FXA, FXB, 5, and 6 recloser controls, and is compatible with popular reclosers from Cooper, G&W, Joslyn, and FKI Whipp & Bourne. Familiar “EZ” recloser control settings speed commissioning, and the SEL-351R Falcon is independently certified to IEEE C37.60-2003 recloser standards.

Lightweight and RuggedOne person can easily lift and quickly install this lightweight recloser control. The durable, gasketless, painted aluminum enclosure will not rust, is rugged enough for line installation, and carries a NEMA 3R rating to ensure reliable performance in all weather conditions. A swing-open NEMA 3R enclosure with a gasketed door is also available.

Reduce system event analysis time by having perfectly aligned events from both distribution and substation devices. SCADA-based distributed time commonly provides accuracy to ±0.5 seconds. As a result, events between multiple devices cannot be compared. The SEL-2401 achieves ±100 nanosecond time accuracy.

Install on the serial port of the Falcon to communicate with your BLUETOOTH-equipped laptop, tablet, or smartphone from up to 328 feet away.

Enter an 8- to 20-character encryption PIN to enable communication. The SEL-2925 is always secure, using BLUETOOTH v2.1 + EDR security.

SEL Fault IndicatorsFind Faults Faster

SEL fault indicators reduce fault-finding time by as much as 50 percent, helping to restore power more quickly and efficiently. They also help reduce costly damage to the power system caused by faults and fault finding by eliminating the need to use multiple fuses for the re-fuse and sectionalize method of fault locating.

Recloser Controls and Fault Indicators Work Together

When SEL fault indicators are combined with recloser controls, they can pinpoint the exact location of a fault even on lateral feeds, something neither product can do on its own. When a fault occurs, the SEL recloser control reports the distance from the recloser to the fault; however, for lines with branches, the recloser control cannot determine on which branch of the line the fault has occurred. By following the line along the tripped fault indicators, the line crew can easily find the area of the fault.
