Selected for and delivered two invited lectures at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, under prestigious Occasional Lecturer Fund administered by Council for International Exchange of Scholar, US Department of State.

Received Young Faculty Research Award 2006 from B.E. College Alumni Association, Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area.

Biography of the nominee has been included in 7th edition of Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering for the reference value of his contribution.

Received a research grant of Rs. 1.40 lakhs under Young Scientist scheme of Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.

Obtained Arthur Cotton Memorial Medal from Institution of Engineers (India) for best paper in Civil Engineering Division Journal of the Institution in Indian Engineering Congress, 1999-2000.

Given away National Science Day Award 2002 for notable contribution in the field of Science and Technology, by Science Association of Bengal.

Awarded Institute Post-Graduate Fellowship after qualifying in the National Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

Following reconnaissance based technical visits were undertaken:

1. Visit to Centre for Hazard Research and Department of Civil Engineering, National University of

Singapore, for establishing Collaborative research link with School of Disaster Mitigation

Engineering, and Department of Civil Engineering, Bengal Engineering and Science University,

Shibpur, particularly in the aspect of seismic amplification in soft soil and wind engineering.

2. Visit to the structural laboratories of the Department of Civil Engineering, Universiti Technologi

MARA, Shah Alam, Malayasia, for experiencing the facility of carrying experimental research in

the field of earthquake engineering

3. To assess and document the impact of the Cyclone Sidr of 15th November, 2007 on the non-

engineered structures at —

(a) The Sagar Islands, West Bengal, India, on 1st and 2nd December 2007 sponsored by the

Bengal Engineering & Science University, Shibpur, and,

(b) The Khulna and Barishal sub-divisions of Bangladesh, on 19th to 24th February, 2008

4. To assess and document the effect of the Sikkim Earthquake of 14th February, 2006 on structures
