Why ValuES?

Several targets of the CBD Strategic Plan 2011-2020 call for mainstreaming the value and benefits of ecosystem services, and the development of the capacity to do so.
Need to create evidence, improve negotiations and increase the quality and impacts of policies and measures
Practitioners have difficulties to access, select and use ESAV methods at practical level.
ESAV results are rarely integrated into decision making
and political processes at the national or local level.
