We have over 50 seismic processing specialists who receive logistics and technical support from our office based support team. Our work includes project management, processing supervision and quality control, special processing, survey planning and modelling, AVO modelling and inversion.

We work seamlessly with our Land and Marine operations group and closely with our resident Geology and Geophysics team for ready access to other disciplines related to the Oil industry.

Our worldwide expertise in Seismic Processing Consultancy covers 2D, 3D, time lapse (4D), Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC), multi-component (4C), Ocean Bottom Node (OBN), wide and multi-azimuth, Land and Marine seismic projects. Our staff provide full or part-time support and complete project management as required. We liaise seamlessly with our operations department for full acquisition and processing project management, processing department for special processing, modelling, AVO and inversion through to our Geology and Geophysics group for interpretation, prospect identification and evaluation on request. Scope of services

n Review and report - We use one of our experienced staff to discuss geophysical objectives and review existing data with the client with a view to giving pertinent feedback and where appropriate recommended further work.

n Legacy data tests - Here we can take existing data and process it in order to review the impact of key parameters and any acquisition-related processing such as de-ghosting and offset weighting.

n Geometry statistics and modelling - Here we can simulate almost any geometry and acquisition parameters in order to quantify their impact. This approach enables objective analysis and comparison. This can include curved ray-tracing to full wave form modelling, AVO and fluid substitution, whatever level is appropriate to meet the geophysical objectives and the client’s request.

n Logistical considerations - Costs, turnaround and logistical aspects are analysed by personnel from our large international staff pool with recent relevant experience.

n Full AWE, EWE and VEWE modelling - We offer 1D, 2D and 3D modelling to the level required for the project.

Recommended survey parameters typically include a range from the following as required by the client: target bandwidth, sample interval and record length, source

and receiver specifications and layout(s), bin size, offset range, migration aperture, recording filters , key processing techniques, footprint analysis, illumination, recommended acquisition and processing for AVO and inversion.

RPS tailors appropriate services to address each project’s objectives. These can be any or all of the above, and can include cross-discipline work for seamless support from our extensive in-house groups such as Geology and Geophysics, Seismic Operations, Health, Safety and Environment.

Introduction

RPS Energy has completed many projects, in exploration, appraisal and development, which required AVO and reservoir characterisation technology. We utilize a combination of ProMAX, Hampson-Russell, Petrel and Kingdom to deliver these services.
