ApplicationThe purpose of laboratory testing of seed germination is to assess seed
quality or viability and to predict performance of the seed and seedling in
the field. CDR's seed germinators are the essential requirement for
germination testing for maintaining the specific conditions of
temperature, relative humidity and light. Designed as high precision
research incubators, these units are not modified refrigerators.

research laboratories. Standard models are available in three
convenient sizes with chamber capacities of 500, 1000 & 1500 liters.
Engineered to provide many years of dependable service, these units
assure you of wide temperature range with saturated humidity for
germinating all type of seeds. CDR has 25 years of experience in the
production of environment controlled chambers and an under ISO9001
quality control system that ensures reliable and accurate chambers to
meet high laboratory standards. All models carry CE mark.

Cabinet construction CDR's reach-in SG series chambers are specifically
designed with highly efficient but thin wall
polyurethane insulation to minimize the use of your
laboratory space. This high-density (45Kgr/m3),
fireproof and environment friendly insulation (CFC
free) ensures low power consumption. As standard
these chambers have interior and exterior walls made
of stainless steel (304) and they contain 4 caster
assemblies (2 with brakes). Wide door opening
provides full and easy access to the chamber's interior.
A magnetic gasket provides a tight seal to door frame.
All models are equipped with an internal glass door
that ensures easy observation without disturbing the
internal atmosphere.
All units come fully equipped with removable
perforated trays. Because CDR emphasizes user
friendliness, every chamber has full front size door
opening(s) for easy access. Internally behind every
door a full frame (tempered) glass door allows
observation without disturbing the internal
atmosphere.
Germination's perforated pull-out trays ensures aeration that minimizes water formation from the humidity.
These trays are made of aluminum finished with high luster baked enamel coating for easier cleaning, resist
corrosion and attractive appearance (optionally they are made of stainless steel 304).
Vertical distance between pull our drawers is 60mm so the recirculating air and the light can evenly
distributed among them.
LightingStandard lighting achieve intensities suitable for most germinator requirements. Standard intensity is 166
μmol/m2/s but any other light intensity is available from
the optional specification.
Fluorescent light fixtures are mounted vertically
separated from the germination area by dual pane
sealed glass barriers so room's environment is not
affected from the lamp's heat. Standard models have
fixtures on both side walls of the cabinets and
optionally they have as well on he door(s). Economical
models (/e series chambers) are equipped with
fluorescent lamps mounted on the door(s) only with
dual pane sealed glass barrier as well.
Lamp compartments that are cooled with forced
ventilating system are (externally) easily accessible for
servicing and cleaning.
Light intensity and photoperiod is computer controlled
on CMP3 models and with an analog timer and manual
switches on DG & DGe models. Easily accesible

Air flow
Precisely designed and manufactured air plenums are used for
uniform air distribution. This perforated rear plenum discharges the
air horizontally for maximum condition uniformity.
Refrigeration plans designed with worldwide available parts.
All models are equipped with <<tropical>> type refrigeration units
made from the well known TECHUMSEH / L'UNITE HERMETIC
that are available worldwide. These reliable <<tropical>>
refrigeration units are designed to operate in ambient temperature
up to +46o C. CDR offers the choice of water cooled condensing
units as an option.
All refrigeration units are energy efficient, CFC free, self contained
models. They are including hot gas bypass systems for high
temperature stability and continuous compressor operation that last
long. This design guarantees reliability and quiet operation.
Atomizing humidifiers
Standard humidification systems are our reliable centrifugal
atomizing humidifiers. Although CDR recommends the use of
deminerilized water centrifugal atomizing humidifiers can work with
tap water because there are easy servicing and they are working
without stopping unexpectedly due to the salt formation. This is a
big advantage because it is giving adequate time for service
planning.
Optionally all models may be equipped with an electronic ultrasonic
humidifier. Both systems produce very small water droplets (>7μm)
which evaporate immediately so they are not transferred inside the
working room.
Atomizing humidifiers must be supplied with clean water to the
following specification; pH=7.0 ±0.5, filtration <2 microns
(0.00008in) and resistivity between 0.5 and 1.0 Meg Ohms.

SELECTABLE CONTROL SYSTEMEvery reach-in plant growth chamber may be equipped with the
economical (DG) or the advanced (CMP3) control system.
DG CONTROL SYSTEM is our low budgjet solution. DG
series chambers are equipped with microprocessor PID
controllers which offer dual set point (day-night) temperature and
humidity, analog timer for the photo period and in depended
switch for every lamp. All models feature high/low temperature
protection with audio and visual alarm.
CMP3 CONTROL SYSTEM includes our 24 years of
experience in environment control chamber design. It is a PLC
based control systems with LCD color touch screens that offer
program flexibility.
CMP3 offer full PID that controls environment with high stability.
Multiple screens with drop down menus and help system permit
authorized users (code protected) to easily adjust variables of the
programs. All chambers can control temperature, relative humidity,
light photoperiod, light intensity in up to 5 step-levels. System’s
language may be selected between Greek, English, German or
French.
Real time clock supported from one year's rechargeable battery
ensures automatically program adjust after a power failure
(Watchdog Timer). Real-time programming is available to all
working parameters. Audio and visual alarm system supports
temperature, relative humidity, sensors burn out, self diagnostic
system for refrigeration plan and humidifier malfunction, open
door. Alarm’s data are logged with time stamp and alarm control
system can be connected with central alarm system.
The CMP3 programmable control has a 7” color touch screen
and capacity for 48 steps per day program for every working
parameter. It has memory for 25 daily programs with user
selectable names as well as an internal on screen data logger
with USB connection for trasfering collected data with a stick.

CDR understands the convenience of managing your chambers
right from your desktop or from any internet-enabled PC. We
now offer the advanced SCADA based system with data
communication support. CDR CSADA in conjunction with CMP
is a powerful management system that allows you to precisely
and effectively control, monitor and acquire data from your
chamber. From your desktop computer with intranet access or
from anywhere with internet connected laptop you can use the
friendly graphical interface of our SCADA/CMP to master your
chamber. The system Is capable of:
1. A supervisory “dashboard” view displaying the status of
all CDR's chambers.
2. Alarms adjusting by setting critical control parameters
and tolerances.
3. Immediate alert/alarm notification to your PC.
4. Data Acquisition of all working parameters of your
chambers. All history data are available:
a) For viewing in graphical form.
b) For viewing as tabular form
c) For printing in real time or intervallic.

Germinators
ApplicationThe purpose of these economical seed germinators is to assess seed
quality or viability and to predict performance of the seed and seedling in
the field. CDR’s SG-90-200-350DGe/Fr are basic equipped models that
work as high precision incubators. All models are conforming to ISTA
standards.
Durability - ReliabilitySG-200 & 300 have walls made of galvanized sheet steel finished off in
white enamel. SG-90 has vacuum formed plastic in white coolor. A
magnetic gasket provides tight seal to door frame. Shelving from seven
(SG-200/300) to five (SG-90) tiers of white epoxy coated aluminum
shelves. Shelves are slide-able on aluminum rail assemblies.
LightingStandard lighting on every chamber includes fluorescent light fixtures
mounted vertically on the door with dual pane sealed glass barrier. Light
intensity and photoperiod is controlled with analog timer and manual
switches.
Uniform and accurate environmentSmall incubators are equipped with DG control system. DG system
includes microprocessor base PID controllers with dual set point (day-
night) temperature and (optionally) relative humidity. All models feature
high/low temperature protection with visual alarm.
Cooling and heating is provided by a self-contained air-cooled
condensing unit. Hot gas bypass provides tight temperature control
while ensuring continuous compressor operation for maximum reliability
and quiet operation.
Uniform airflow is introduced to the growth area in a horizontal airflow
pattern discharged from a perforated rear wall plenum. This provides
excellent uniformity throughout the entire chamber volume.
An ultrasonic humidifier ensures precise and uniform environment.

CDR E.CHRYSSAGIS can deliver and install your new equipment with our factory trained personnel. Quotations upon request.
All service personnel are graduates of technical schools. Additionally, the technicians attend factory sponsored training seminars when available so that CDR can provide the best possible service. We have no limit in our area of coverage.
At CDR E. CHRYSSAGIS we are committed to our customers not only at the initial installation but to increasing the life and limiting downtime of that unit. We have designed a Preventive Maintenance program and provide Calibration services to help you meet your test requirements and recording requirements.
We recommend an Annual PM and Calibration to properly maintain your unit. The PM involves removal and replacement of all components that could fail within a year. This includes filters, float switches, o rings, fans etc. This process usually takes one day and normally eliminates the need for further service calls.
